Hello

I have made several camera views so it best suits your playing style!

A little about this:

I got the idea from Ekker. Which was an old creator of his own Camera Switcher that had BrainCam, NormalCam, and SkyCam. Well, I liked his script and innovated his script to make it "better". How I did is I put a lot of thought and time into making the innovation.

With my improvements on Ekker's script, you can have an easy view on your surroundings in BrainCam. In the previous version, it was very difficuly to see in BrainCam when you were either medium or heavy tank because those two tanks interfered with the camera. I have changed that so it is more easier to see. What I did was just make an individual camera for each tank. The best view for light (ctrl l), the best view for medium (ctrl m), and the best view for heavy (ctrl h). I also added "rear" view for those people wanting to see what's behind them in Scrum. I made the hotkeys simple so it's not a challenge to hunt for the letter you want.

However, I'm a beginner at "scripting" and only used of what Ekker has used in the past. I put the script in the client/scripts folder, but with no success in people actually using the hotkey. I would like to make this camera view on a client side so it can work for any server (if that is possible in any way).

If your not convinced, here are some screenshots I took while making the improvements:

Here are the best Light Tank view (first-person):

Here are the best Medium Tank View(first-person):

Here are the best Heavy Tank View (first-person):

Finally, the rear view:

The camera is better in action rather than images, but you get an idea on what I'm working on. :)

If anybody knows how to make this work for everyone online rahter than single player, please inform me in e-mail or here.

Thanks!

Well I'm not a scripter buty will try to help to get more stars ;).
Since it is in the client folder it will probably be difficult. I would try making something like observer mode that uses these different cameras. But keep in mind that that could be a really dumb suggestion of me :P.

I think I have figured out the probem. I used moveMap.bind for the hotkeys and it seems that TT does not understand what is actually being binded.

In the TankFX.cs it has a datablock(DeafultCameraView) in the file so it can acutally understand the datablock rather than binds...

I was thinking I should do it like this:
Datablock(LightCameraView)

Defaultcameraview.blahblah = blah;

(continued)

Datablock(MediumCameraView)

(continued)
And it goes on and on. How can I make it so that it actually switches with datablock used rather than (%val)? I have no idea what I'm even talking about but have a little understanding of the situation...

Thanks.

I have worked about 4 hours on getting a good camera (very hard to getting a good camera!). I only need to ake it client and I'm done. Warfare has sent the script that would work on servers, but has a tiny syntax error that I can't find. Anyways, the camera switch will be ready soon until the syntax error is fixed. ;)

Hey... This thing's getting really complicated. Now I'm also in the project! I ended fixing the syntax error that warfare did (warfare, learn that all datablocks are closed with a }; ) but now it crashes the game if we use the script. Most probably the way warfare did doesnt work right in TT. Because of this I need to wait for 56k to answer to see if he has any idea on how to change a camera datablock on the client side... Partially because on this script the server also must have it installed for it to work, what I don't think is good... I have a great idea for how to show the credits too! But that'll be implemented if I can get this working now ;)

^ Yes I have been working with Art Crazy and Warfare for a long time now! Art Crazy is a very best friend to me since we have close relationships ragarding us playing lots of games and chatting for long hours! Also, Warfare is a very good friend I've met him several times among servers and chat about "things". Anyways, yeah, these two are helping me a lot, without em I wouldn't have gotten this far. I'll be sure to add these two to my credits. :)
