Okay, maybe it was. But in any event, I hope you get back on TT soon.
Say, if you have a backup medium of some kind... I have an idea:
1) Get an Ubuntu live CD. It can boot into a working system without a working hard drive.
2) Copy all your files (browser cookies/bookmarks, videos, iTunes songs) to the backup drive.
3) Wipe Windows and reinstall it.
4) Restore everything.
I have to do this sort of thing all the time when my comp stops working or whatever.

I have not a clue what happened, There has been several other ppl in the display map who have had no problems so I don't think that would have caused his comp to crash. Maybe see if you can start it in safe mode and do a system restore back to the day before and see if that works. I don't know, I am Lost to this stuff..

Hey everyone, I just got off the phone with WOLFIE. Heres the beef. Aliens took over his PC and now they are holding it hos...oops I mean,
Wolf's PC is not booting up correcty. When he turns it on (and I cant remeber all the details so...sorry!!) it goes into a black window says..There is something wrong with your software yada yada. So he tried booting it up with the old F8 and safe mode...it goes threw the loaading bar twice, then gives him a blue screen with alot of stuff on it. I belive it was, WTF WTF WTF, OMG OMG!!11! Wait..no it was more like. "There is something wrong with the software/hardware please reboot and if you see this message again then...and my head goes blank...bad memory...
Well heres the big picture.
His PC is not working and giving him a uber gay message, the only way to contact him is by Cell...or if you want to go out in the woods at night..but you might not want to do that!
Anyone who has his cell # call him there if you need him. For those of you who dont post here and ill relay the message to him. He can also get online with his cell but it takes him a VERY long time to write, but he can read it.
Anyway if you need something and you have his cell holla at him, other wise post here and ill relay it too him!

Like I said, reinstalling Windows would be the ticket. Or maybe (I doubt it) installing a Linux system alongside it would work, even if he doesn't use it at all, because GRUB (Linux's bootloader) would override Windows's booter.

Yes if you can re install windows then that would fix it. It is very very simple and all you have to do is find the cd of windows which came with your pc (probably), insert the cd and follow the instructions.

I have skype out for this year and I can give lone a call if he wants a walkthrough on how to install it.

If he doesn't have the CD, or Windows was already installed in the comp, he can try this (recently had a similar problem):
At the Dell Screen (right after the password screen if you have a password, if not it should be the second screen to show up) hit Control + F11. This should re-install Windows.

Hope that helps, if you don't have the CD.

spent some time on the phone and got him going
he just needs to finish the final tweaks

@GQ It wasn't anything from your download
Just a case of the hiccups

Comp froze while writing to the swap file and then was shut off
If this ever happens to you - hit the reset button
(Gives better chance of survival)
