Why? Can someone tell me why anyone would take a Dodge Neon and try to turn it into a street machine? I don't get it.

They have potential. Just like any small, mass produced car you would have to get a higher-end model to get something decent unless you do some work to it yourself. I know of someone who has one of the orginal neons. It's a sports model from 1995 (I think). It still runs great today even after nearly 300,000 miles!! And yes there is an abundance of after market parts for the older style neons.

I found it really funny when a kid put a huge spoiler and big muffler on the sedan his parents gave him.

Rice burners, and american cars have no appeal to me. If I was going make a street legal race car I would probly start with a porsche or BMW. Taking a car and fixing it up because parts are cheap is like dressing up a pig in a tuxedo. Might look nice, but it is still a big, and the Tux is going to be ruined
