Yes you can. First, make a folder in ThinkTanks/game/data called "deathSkins". Put the dts and your preferred skin for each tank into this folder. At the end of all your mis files put this:

lighttank.shapeFile = "~/data/deathSkins/tank01.dts";
mediumtank.shapeFile = "~/data/deathSkins/tank02.dts";
heavytank.shapeFile = "~/data/deathSkins/tank03.dts";

WARNING!!!
People will see the skin in game, but the treads will appear white or gray! If the skins are not worth the cost in aesthetics, then don't do this!

I have always been told by the best TT Players that skins are client side only. So what you are saying Monica is that if you have a server that you host then you can make it so people can see your skin, but with white or greay treads? That cool it would be worth it so that your mod has the effects that you are trying to achive when making it. I have learned something..

Someone told me that trick, but I forget who...I like to pass knowledge along. ;)

The treads are part of the DTS, right? So, in theory, shouldn't they have a skin if you made one for them? Something fishy here... Did that person ever try it themselves? Did you to see if they were right?

I actually did try putting the tread skins in my Server Skins folder. It didn't work.

And, you know, the above method just makes the skins server side until you leave the server. Once you have downloaded the deathSkins, you can edit them as much as you want. I only posted a temporary solution.

In the file C:/program files/bravetree/thinktanks/game/data/shapes/tanks/ are located these files:

Tank01.jpg - light
Tank02.jpg - medium
Tank03.jpg - heavy
Tank04.jpg - ufo

Ok all here is the scoop on this idea.

Find this statment from -Z-,

LW I had considered both of those and was actually going to try an auto-team switcher for league CTF games, however, it probably wont be finished for a while and was suggesting what could be done until such time as there is a simple and fair solution.

As for using the team skins in CTF.. I would but - at the moment, there are far more datablocks for tanks than there are in TS. The team skins requires 3x as many tank datablocks (eg LightTank, GreenTeamLightTank, BlueTeamLightTank etc) for CTF there are not only different datablocks for different bot AIs, different datablocks for things like the nitro powerup etc etc. Its a lot more work to add all them in. I do intend to though if it proves successful for the PSL.

For the returning at slightly different times - all I can suggest, is that (if you do decide to all jump out and come back in) then you all agree to spawn and go to your own base and wait until the last player has returned. Spawn points and flag spawn location are fixed so there is less chance of being lucky at the start etc. Just agree to wait in your own goal until all players are back.

In this Link read from that point, all the way until you the end of page 5. If you still have questions or the link to the script doesn't work let me know, I still have a copie of it. B)

Stop spamming and bumping old threads! 8(

And at least try to type in a recognizable language, I doubt any sane person could understand what you're asking.
