he came in named as tom cat and was ahrassing black cat he then said he was djwings so why isnt he banned why cant you take his rout internet provider and get them to ban him from playing on ptt servers?

He is banned, but he was using proxies which change his IP. I think you should ban him from his computers IP because they cant be changed.

@56k hes using his proxy and survior is so wicked lagg free the only way to stop him is for me to ban him *me being survivor adm to ban chong* or you contact his internet supplier and say ud like to stop him from accesing your website and any other type.

Lol Chong has been banned on my server for almost a year. Put him in the banned list and he will not return. ;)

56k you dont understand, he is using prxies which change his IP address, there are millions of proxies, its really hard to stop him from going on TT and in our servers, you have to get his computer IP, not his Internet IP

Maybe you could modify the game connection function to track MAC addresses instead of IP addresses- he can't hide from those.

You can NOT use MAC addresses to ban someone.. In networking the MAC address part of a packet changes each router you travel through.. So the MAC address the game server sees is not his MAC address but the MAC address of the last router he went through.. Mac address banning only works in a non-routed situation..

I almost hate to suggest this, but could some servers be set up so you need an account on the server, and when you join a game on it, you have to put in a name and password? Then if someone is abusing the game, you can close that account. It would create a bunch of problem areas, but may be worth looking into.

BTW, I have no idea how to make this happen.

I'm quite sure Bravetree has thought of this, but I feel you should be able to ban a person via product serial number in the next version. If they want to buy the game over and over let them.

I'm still waiting for anyone with the capabilities to host a dedicated Indi Scrum server with admins. I played Indi in Blind Cide's server recently and actually had a blast playing it for the first time. If a server was set up and a few folks that play at different times during a given day were given admin privileges the morons in this game would be relegated to Shockwave Indi Servers only.

Exact same thing I suggested in another post.

I am currently coordinating with the admin group, and many hosters of private servers to standardize the ban list. Chong and destroyer are already added to most and I'm working with the last several few. If these people want to go and screw up the shockwave servers, so be it. It's not going to continue in the private servers.

I am also concidering hosting a server for children which would be password protected. Passwords would only be given out to parents. And the password would be changed frequently. Reducing the disruptions.

No Pedro, That means your the admin of your own private server. The admin group is a group of people that host the most popular servers that the majority of peopel play on. These are also the servers that host all league games.

He's been bugging me by asking about my reticle and giving it to him. I first time by pure luck noticed that InifiniteMonkey wasn't written right and rest is history...
