I cant use quicktime either... Did you update?
What kind of propaganda have you been reading? You sound like a troll.
I've tried everything, and nothing seems to work
Try being more specific, if you've really tried everything then you can't be helped.
A quick search does not reveal this as a widespread problem, so it's more than likely that something you did screwed your computer up. What have you changed or installed lately?
Regarding the MPEG 2 files, they require an expensive licence to use and that is why it costs extra to play them. WMP and Flash won't play them either.
@ BC= Normally I would thing is something I screwd up in my Comp, but Let me tell you this, It's also happened on my Computer at the store where I work at! (my paret's shop, so it's also my comp)
I've tried uninstalling it, loading Quick time 6 (1 version vefore 7) and it won't let me do it cus it says I need to completely take Quick time off my comp.. Which I can't do...
And BC, I don't mess with Quick time, it happened on it's own 1 day! :'(

I don't know what's going on there, but...
Ever since Quicktime got together with Apple, Quick Time has taken over all Media functions in my computer!
Apple invented Quicktime. It was probably one of the few bright spots in Apple's dark days. (Hard to believe it was 15 years ago.)
Apple released the first version of QuickTime on December 2, 1991 as a multimedia add-on for System 7. The lead developer of QuickTime, Bruce Leak, ran the first public demonstration at the May 1991 Worldwide Developers Conference, where he played Apple's famous 1984 TV commercial on a Mac, at the time an astounding technological breakthrough. Microsoft's competing technology Video for Windows did not appear until November 1992.
Long time Quicktime user here..... I have never once had the problems that you are talking about. I am not sure what you did, and I am not sure what you did to the second computer you are referring to, but Quicktime is not evil... It is really good. What you can do for free with Quicktime is pretty amazing.
^ yea, I never had problems with Quick Time till now... :(
Anyways, I've been wondering, what's u'r tank icon supposed to mean? 8o

It's true, Quick Time has become like a Leech, or a Virus to my computer! Ever since Quicktime got together with Apple, Quick Time has taken over all Media functions in my computer!
Normally I would just deal with it, exept that now any Flash vased movies or websites I cannot see because my current Quicktime cannot play file type: Mpeg2!
This has completely Ticked me off, and here's proof on Quick Time's mane page in the Apple Website
And right there at the bottom of the Page, They are selling that extra component in order to play Mpeg2 Files!!!!! In other words, They either did this in order to force me to buy Quick Time Pro, or something in their update went terribly wrong!
I've tried shutting all file type assosiations of quick time, and even tried to Delet it (and it wouldn't let me delet it completely! So what does this tell you?
Windows Media Player, Flash Player, all that is basically taken over by Quick Time...
I've tried everything, and nothing seems to work... :S
Has this happened to you? Do u have any ideas, or suggestions as to how I could fix this problem? :o
