Page : 1 : <2>

Ok, so you have just started a new army, great that is excellent. However, if you want ur new army to really get going, you are going to need to develop several things first. The most important one is your main post (meaning your very first post).

Here is an example of a good main post:

Welcome to the ______ army PTT forum. I'f your new, welcome! Thanks for looking!

Practice times

Weekday practices are on ____ at _____ until ______

Weekend practices are on ____ at ____ until _____

ARMY WEBSITE: " link to your army website here"

ARMY PRIVATE FORUMS: "link to your army private forums here"

Army hosters

(list those members who can host wars and practices here) * = currently unavaliable to host

Army rules

1) no impostering

2) no cliff-hanging or diving - these are cheap strategies and just annoy people

3) no swearing - it isnt needed, if you really feel angry about something, try to explain it rather than getting all worked up

4) respect all TTers - make sure you are nice to everyone, and you will have a good time

5) protect your clan - If someone make a dirrogatory remark about the army, defend the army but DON'T CURSE at them

6) You don't need to have ( __ ) < *fill in the blank * - but it would be better if you did

7) Try to make it to all wars and practices - It's ok if you cant come to a war / practice just make sure to give at least a 1 day notice (hw / family / school (if app.) always come first)

8) BE ACTIVE - if you cannot be active for a period of time please give 1 day notice). In all other cases, if you are not active for 1 week you will be warned. 2 weeks = 4 day ban 1 month = BANNED

9) You can always reach me at "insert email address or best way to contact you here"

10) DO NOT recruit unless you are a recuiter

11) DO NOT asked to be promoted - the leader will decide if you deserve to be or not

12) DO NOT SPAM - it annoys everybody. If you forgot something in a post use the "edit" button

13) Post in the forum at least once per day or at least once per every couple of days

Specific infractions for the rules

Break rule # 1 = severe warning

Break rule # 2 = regular warning

Break rule # 3 = warning

Break rule # 4 = severe warning or possible 2 - 4 day suspension from the army (depending on severity of infraction)

Break rule # 5 = (not warning etc, just use common sense!)

Break rule # 6 = (no warning since # 6 is optional)

Break rule # 7 = warning if you dont give at least one day notice if you can't make it to war / practice

Break rule # 8 = regular warning (severe warning if you become very inactive)

Break rule # 10 = warning (severe warning if you continue to recruit without permission)

Break rule # 11 = warning if you constently ask - possible suspension if you spam about it

Break rule # 12 = severe warning even at first infraction, 2 - 4 day suspension if you continually spam

Requirements to Join

1) you are not a DEMO

2) you have Think Tanks installed on your computer

3) you can be in 2 other clans but NOT an enemey clan / army

4) You must agree to obey all rules and regulations, including commands by superiors

Discipline policy

1)

1 week of inactiveness without pre-approved permission = warning

2 weeks of inactiveness without pre-approved permission = 2 - 3 day probation period

3 weeks of inactiveness without pre-approved permission = 1 week ban

1 month of inactiveness and you are BANNED FOREVER

2)

Break 1 rule = warning

Break 2 rules = a severe warning and a 2 - 3 day probation period

Break 3 rules = 1 week BAN

Break 4 rules or more = BANNED FOREVER

Army ranks

Co-Leader(s) =

Major(s) =

Colonel(s) =

Sargeant(s) =

Other things you might want to include: army motto, army banner, army oath...etc

<--END MAIN POST EXAMPLE-->

I hope this helped you! May your new army prosper and do well!

List of armies who have a good main post - - Spirit's main post grade

MI 100% (What can I say! This is the best main post out there, period.)

TC 98% (As close to perfect as an army can get. Is very well layed out with a lot of spirit in it. It just needs to be updated more)

SA 97% (a very clear thread, outlines all requirements and rules in a solid manner and has some "spirit" in it :) )

UF 95% (also an excellent thread that is costently updated)

Fi 92 % (intersting in that it gives a history of the name, also is very clearly laid out).

VT 90% (a traditional main post - but it gets the job done. Is very well laid out and is easy to read)

TSK 82% (Very interesting use of links, but the main post needs some more info on it)

NS 77% (A fair start, but the pictures are way out of proportion and make the thread look disorganized)

List of armies that have a poor main post - - Spirit's main post grade

TC 68% ( An ok thread, but nothing special here - needs to find a way to give it an identity)

RS 65% (Has the basics, but now needs to put more info in and "highlight" the thread, something unique)

DO NOT PLAGERIZE from my main post above! Create your own rules etc in your own words!!!

Some words of wisdom from LONEWOLF

When your Army is ready for it's first,
War or Battle with another Army,
these things are what you need to do and not do !
1. Make sure your Army knows date, time & game type.
2. Make sure they know the Rules or Terms of War or Battle.
3. Make sure they know the pass to server.
4. Email your Army the pass to your members or put it in your Private(meaning only your members can get it) Website.
5.NEVER EVER POST THE PASS TO THE SERVER ON PTT OR SAY IT IN TT UNLESS IT IS VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE.
6. Show goodsportsmanship at all times, even if getting your Arse handed to you ! Remember you asked for this. See #9
7. Make sure no member that you plan to take too War or Battle with you is banned. No Army should ever have banned members in it. Meaning if a member was banned from a server, then is that the type of person you want representing your Army. I would hope not !
8. Make sure you really know what you are geeting your self into.
9. Make sure your Army is well trained before hand
10. For Gods sake, show up on time !

Thank you for your attention.

:)

What kind of rules should I make for my team??? (mine is TD)

Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at 2:11:50 PM

I have some example rules in my top post - but you may not simply copy and paste - you must come up with your own rules - they can be based off of mine but do not usethe same exact wording.

Example rules:

No impostering - directl banned

No swearing - 2-3 week kick

No team-killing - 203 week kick

Protect army name

Respect all TTers

Etc, etc.

Wedge? Listen to the next four words very closely:
STOP BUMPING DEAD THREADS.
Thank you for your time.

Wednesday, November 08, 2006 at 12:54:31 PM

@Wedge:
I agree with DJ. You won't get a good reputation by doing that.

My advice is:
Check the date of the last post and post accordingly.

Your time is appreciated.
