If you don't mind a really depressing read, Clarke's Rama series postulates some interesting stuff at the end. If you're into books that require lots of concentration to get through, try Orson Scott Card's Ender series - these book's are long and a slow read. I can normally get through a paperback in a few hours. Each of these took at least twice as long as normal for me to read, and I'm no dummy.
And I'm no dummy.
Oh c'mon Master TMO, give yourself credit, you are an incredible dummy!
(sorry, maybe that joke is only funny to me, it is a take from the original Caddy Shack movie. (one of the all-time funniest movies))

I'd like to open a MacDonald on Mars.
I don't know Hugo, I'm not sure if the Mars population can handle a second MacDonald's. I hear the one they put there already isn't doing so well...
Mars all went to hell after Starbucks took over their independently-owned espresso bar.

Putting a MickeyDee's on Mars would bring the onslaught of "intelligent races" to earth to eliminate us. Don't you know it's against the Universal Charter to proliferate fast food in the universe? As long as we keep it contained here on earth, they'll leave us alone. Now we know what all those "sightings" are about. Methinks they're checking up on us.
Need your 3D glasses for this one. NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Spirit 3D image
I just worry about all the trash.
Here my thought on intelligent life in the universe:
Build a space army
And attack them!

Excellent choice of pics XD
Hell the universe is soooo big theres gotta be atleast something living out there.. Even if it is only plants or single celled organisms but that would mean that maybe..just maybe those single celled organisms could "evolve" to something intellegent...

OK,
I was looking at the latest photo from the Hubble showing the universe from 13 billion light years away. Thousands of galaxies, millions of stars and planets.. Truly awe inspiring how small and humble we are.
Lets throw this to the wolves... Who of you thinks Earth is the only planet that sustains intelligent life?
