You guys have gotta learn how to use "Pattern Overlay" in Photoshop. I'd say other programs have the equivalent feature.
I found a graphic of a piece of metal with RIVOTS and created a Photoshop pattern from it which I then applied to the skin map I had created for this tank. I have one layer in PS dedicated to every shape of the tank's body as well as an individual layer for each shape. This is a PS file and not the JPEG map I have on my website and not something I'm in the habit of handing out to people. But the tank map is easy enough to create, though it is time consuming.
