I'm fascinated to know where all you guys (and gals) are playing from. Somehow, by the magic of Electrickery, you all appear to be in my living room. I'm in Loughton, Essex, just on the outskirts of London. (Don't worry, I won't ask to come and stay the weekend!)

I was born and raised in Ohio. I went to Germany in 1982 with the Army and when I got out in 1989 I kinda got stuck here. I always think about going back home but never seem to make it some how.

We live in a tiny village called Higham, halfway between Colchester, Essex and Ipswich, Suffolk in the UK. No DSL yet, the best they can give us here is 128K ISDN at unbelieveable expense. Nice countryside though. 8o

My locale is that of central Iowa, USA... Des Moines to be exact. It is currently a slightly chilly 15°F (windchills around -5° to 0°F) with 5+ inches of snow on the ground and a few more inches coming tonight. There will be a heat wave this weekend as temps will rise to around 25°F.

@Ass Hat, I used to wonder if you were just someone calling me an ass. At least you got out in time. I will probably be here until I retire or get fed up and shoot for a career change. Do you ever come back this way?

Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at 9:47:06 PM

LMFAO about the name, Hatter! Didn't even think about that. Check out the names forum for a full explanation.

Haven't been back to Watertown since I left 10 years ago. Still go to my hometown in PA sometimes, though.

Dear Chuck, I called the Queen and asked if I could say "Y'all" and she said "OK, just this once". After all, it is her English. (Actually, I got it from Cletis the slack-jawed yokel). PEST

Currently living in central West "By God" Virginia. I grew up in the southern part of the state. Lived with some relatives in Fredericksburg, VA for about a year while in college. Once I joined the USAF I lived in San Antonio, TX and near Salt Lake City, UT for a few assignments. TDYs put me all around for a bit.

I'm starting to itch to move again. Seems we relocate every 2 or 3 years, whether we're in the military or not.

Cranbrook, BC, Canada. About 1 hour and some north and east of Sandpoint, Idaho, and across the border. Voted the ugliest town in North America to drive through (no joke). The nice thing is that keeps everyone from moving here, since when you hang a right or a left off the 'strip' you get a beautiful town in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. I can go any direction and find hiking, mountain biking, skiing, nature, fresh air, and inexpensive housing in 5 minutes. Not to mention it is the home town of Lillix, Madonna's Avril Lavigne wannabe protoges.
