I'm protected about this with over 7 apps to protect me :)
Good post tough
BTW: There are spyware and adware that are like double evil than that Claria... And if you dont know, the second one ignores it because, well MS never did something that worked right (even if that app is CLOSE to working right)

A little note to the side....
microsoft did everything it wanted to do
because of microsoft... Spyware and malware is possible
they put backdoors into everything on purpose
Well hindsight is always 20 20
When it became apparent that the internet was the hot ticket
Gates and co jumped on the bandwagon late and in haste (squashing Netscape in the process)
WinXP is a prime example of this. An operating system thats totally net friendly built around the
browser (before the existence of malware).
Once the spyware that was developed by the marketing ppl was taken over and modded into malware
by the criminals the real trouble started. This OS now has over 135 mbs of updates and
security patchs. In some instances the service packs practically rewrite the operating system
architecture. Plus it's now mandatory to run Anti-Virus and Ad-aware software
Recently I read an article that stated "in the last year virus proliferation has increased ten-fold. Last year it was
100 new viruses in a month. Now it's a 1000. Why? So called "white collar" crime. Identity theft and corporate
spying has reached record levels. (Thats right the mafia wants your IP address!! Lol)
Like CUC said, "Shark Bait! Oo! Aa!" the internet can be a dangerous place
Just a note to all the Mac users who might feel the need to chime in
The reason the 99% of viruses are written for PC is that they currently have the lions share of the market
If 99% of all computers were Macs then you would have these issues.
Think about it!!!
(You may be the apple and us the banana but "Hey! We all fruit!!")

I been hunting through the internet seeing sites that might have malware installed in them. The internet is a scary place out there if you don't know what you are doing.
Here is a video with a man taking a risk on installing malware:
http://www.benedelman.org/spyware/grokster-100904.wmv
And also here is another person that is taking a HUGE risk that shows how security holes can generate by clicking one "yes" button.
Click on the "video" link
I have made this thread so people take a little more caution to crapware. Oh and also GATOR and Claria are EVIL . Claria is the creator of GATOR and is extreamly dangerous if it finds a way onto your computer.
As you can see in the second image, this malware tool actually IGNORES Claria.
Also - Kazaa - is ne of the huge produces of malware.
Thank you.
