I got a search bar at the top of my Internet Explorer that I did NOT install and it sets my homepage to www.mysearch.com and go to all sites on the internet through that site. Ex www.mysearch.com/search=site%apx?http://supra.planetthinktanks2.com or something like that.

I think it's spyware. Can you guys recommend a spyware deleted and preventer and its price?

Need it quickly, I can't even log into PTT or anything else from it. The hacker who installed it is probably taking passwords through it. Ugh.

I like my Mac cuz I don't have to put up with this stuff...

Visit this website. ComputerCops Click on Anti-Spyware

1st thing you do is scroll down to CWScreader and run the shredder. (that should get rid of the tool bar.) Next you scroll down a bit more and run the HijackThis, that should clean out any infected files. Then, you install AdAware and run it. That'll clean out the rest of the spyware on your computer. The fourth and final step, STOP DOWNLOADING INTERNET PORN!!!

Lol JK! Not that I have any experience in that or anything.... 8o

If the link doesn't work... The address is Computercops.biz. Then click on "Downloads".

You can change you home page by going to your internet properties. While you're there... Go a head and delete all of your cookies, temporary files (including offline content), and internet history.

Yeah, I know how to do that, I'm not THAT braindead. :P It's just that whenever I do that, it changes it back to mysearch.

Thanks, I'll try it.

[edit] Just saw the porn thing...steAlth, I'm only 13...I have no interest in the female body as of right now...we'll see when I'm older... :P

Go to tools -> internet properties.

Click the advanced tab.

Find and uncheck "allow 3rd party extentions in internet explorer"

There goes the toolbar! To change your homepage back, get Spybot Search and Destroy, go to tools, homepages, and set them ALL to the page you want.

Thanks anyways for your help Nate, but I did what SteAlth said and *poof* it's gone!

I also downloaded a personal firewall while I was there. Just a question, is this like a REAL firewall, or is it less powerful?

Thanks again.

Get adaware pro. It has a tool called adwatch that runs in the system tray and blocks MOST spyware and virii from getting to your system. Its also handy to keep track of what registry modifications are made

I run zonealarm as a personal firewall.

Adaware and spybot kill all the spyware.

Norton for virus protection

Edit: set your browser to kill any temporary internet files and cookies every 24 hours. This shuts down most tracking cookies

Where can I get SpyBot?

Also, how much does the Ad-aware cost? Does it charge per month?

Thanks yet again.

Both are free to use.

Download Ad-Aware

Download SpyBot Search & Destroy

You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.
