They do have the power to do that. They deleted some of Anoyingyutz's posts (after making fun of him, of course), and by "close" I assume you mean "delete" threads, and if that is true, they did that with the TT Magazine thread started by Racer, by Racer's request. If "close" means "lock", then you already know that they can do that.
No, lock means lock, where you cant post in it any more but can still read the thread, but delete means to remove entirely. And yes close and lock are the same. :)

I fihured I would post this here, because I need help with all of the spam over in the modding forum, so I was just wondering if z/dan cpuld appoint some modderators and have the power to close threads and delete unnecessary posts?
