No, it's not... Well, there are two ways to place items that are not programmed into MW. The easiest one is to use TGE demo, which I will explain. The harder and more time consuming one is to actually change the file path in you.mis file.

Well, if you followed my instructions on TGE modding, this is what you should do:

Open TGE like I explained to you in my tutorial. Once you open your mission, go up to the selection bar. It should have a 'Window' selection at the end. All you have to do is select Mission Creator or something like that. Take on the side of your screen you will see a menu, choose Static Shapes on that menu, and follow the directory that starts with game. You will see folders of all the items you have in TT. You can place any items using this method, but not the ones from TGE. This is all you have to do to place items. I will make a Pictorial Tutorial for this soon. CannedSplam

This is exactly why I use MW only for pads, pawerups and spawns. Everything else is placed in with TGE.

Yeah, it's just SO much easier on TGE.

Ahem...

In the editor I use, there is a Replace function. Highlight one line, open the Replace box, type in to the "what to replace it with" box, then do Replace All. It finds all lines with the highlighted text and replaces it with what you typed into the box.

I use this because I can never get them placed right in TGE. The coordinates are off. If I place a tree where I want it in TGE it is a mile away from where I want it in TT.

^that is the exact way I do it
I use the replace function also.......but u dont have to have a special editor to get that...Notepad has it! %) :P

Only lethal on days that end with "Y"

I guess each has their own way. I just find that you really don't know how the object or element is going to look with rotation or scaling unless you're placing the object that will be there in the end. I also will place several different rocks or trees to see which ones work best for that particular space. Kind of a pain to edit the mission and relaunch a server just to see how another tree might look in that spot. If you decide to go into buildings or other elements later theres not going to be a good way of making things line up correctly swapping out the objects.

It can be done, I just find it to be a far less accurate way of getting the job done.

Racer, I'm not sure what that happens with your mission files.

I was helping Dazzle with the same issue Racer. The terrain block has coordinates in a series of codes for your terrain file, and if they aren't correct, then your items wont be either.

I did it via torque! How do I delete them and rotate though?

@
Canned

Somehow sorted the problem with moving objects what worked for me was saving from the world editor menu only when in TGE. Saving in terrain or paint would always mean the shapes/objects were in the wrong place when loaded into TT.

Thanks for your help

That sadly I haven't found out how to do via TGE...

Tried saving from the world editor and now it works fine. But I don't know how to rotate objects!

In TGE you see the three handles on any selected object, the lines going in the directions of X, Y, and Z
I forget what either does what but if you hold either CTRL or ALT while dragging an object's handles it should either strech it out or rotate it
experiment a bit :P

Placing trees is back-breaking work, but very rewarding.
Be sure to water it in every day for at least two weeks after you plant it.
