So I've done some modding. Cleared CraniumCrater and did my thing using the ModWizard, which is lovely btw. I went to eat dinner, saved everything and saved my new map as TT_3.mis. After dinner I came back to do some more modding and it says I don't have the right art or TE to run the game. What gives? CK

Most of the time if you just reload the map it wont do that, if it still does it either you have a new terrain that isnt installed right, or you have a shape that isnt loading right(cant remember if that will give you the same error or not though).

Well- I did do a couple of funky things but nothing out of the ordinary, or something I haven't already seen(3 boost bads on top of each other followed by a boost arrow). Could it be something in the pref.cs or.mis files? I re-installed TE.?

It is most likely going to be something wrong with your.mis.

Well-Ijust uninstalled and re-installed from my Garage Games site. Now my pref files are missing. I'm getting frustrated. I thought I was getting somewhere w/ my modding and I was only minutes away from launching my very first,self-modded server. I'm obsessed.

I copied my pref files from my shockwave TT folder into My Garage Games version. Are they the same?

CK
Multiple boost pads have nothing to do with it
Always move carefully when editing the pref.cs or the.mis
Syntax (the sequence and type of characters) is uber important
Reasons for version error include
a missing map or object
a missing or misplaced charater in prefs or the mission
or Capital letters
So if you read your log file it will report a missing object
and even show the path where it expects it to be
Or if that is not the issue compare the files to known good ones
I crashed once because of a missing "
just rememmber getting there is half the fun
