Good choices Tank Girl and napalm. I like your taste in music.

@ saiph
yes, I like the faint too. Worked up so sexual is my fav song outta them. Gonna go check out the rest of your suggestions. I've noticed a weird kinda liking to the alternative brand of country/blue grass recently (and I hate regular country). I guess I can handle a little twang...just dont go overboard. Lol. All goes back to the uncle tupelo/sun volt/wilco thing for me...although I tend to like jeff tweedy when he colaborates rather than on his own. The minus 5 is a great example of this. Its like indy's version of the travelling wilburies (sp?).

Looks like our musical preferences are very similar saiph & get some. I pretty much like anything that has involved Giant Sand members (Blackie Ranchette, OP8, Calexico etc.). Chore of Enchantment is probably my favorite because of Jim Dickinson's production & the Gelb/Convertino/Burns lineup.

I have pretty eclectic musical tastes, but am attracted to creative production/arrangement more than anything. I do like a straightforward pop song with a good hook though.

Discs that have spent the most time in my player lately:

Godspeed you Black Emperor- lift yr. Skinny fists like antennae to heaven!
John Cale- Hobosapiens
The Go-Betweens- Liberty Belle & the Black Diamond Express
The Dead Science- Submariner
Mercury Rev- All is Dream
Secret Machines- Now Here is Nowhere
Robyn Hitchcock- Spooked
Brian Wilson- Smile!
Midnight Movies- S/T
The Shins- Chutes Too Narrow
The Handsome Family- In the Air
Interpol- Antics

You guys know that Modest Mouse & Guided by Voices are gonna be on Austin City Limits this month?

Thursday, January 20, 2005 at 2:25:49 PM

My fav music are Led Zepplin, AC/DC/, Guns N Roses, Linkin Park, Jimi Hendrix, most of old rock. Old rock rocks ass man!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday, January 20, 2005 at 6:55:07 PM

I like punk. I'm listening to a lotta Nirvana now.

Friday, January 21, 2005 at 12:29:54 PM

U suck fire fox u only like new music!!!! New music sucks they bands nowadays hav no talent at all unlike the old bands like AC/DC and Led Zepplin have so much talent unlike the gay new music u like hahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday, January 21, 2005 at 4:19:03 PM

@ joe,
because you are such a fan then why dont you explain the extent of AC/DC and Led Zepplin's talent....idiot.

Note: I am not about to deny zepplin's talent (AC/DC is questionable...but entertaining) but ripping someone for their musical interest is seriously weak. And if you dont find anything new that you like...maybe you are just not being exposed to the good stuff. There are many brilliant artists, musicians, and lyracists that never see the radio dial or mtv/vh-1/bet.

Respect all that is creative.

Friday, January 21, 2005 at 5:08:55 PM

Funny this thread popped back up. I'm teaching my kid about Deep Purple right now on ITunes. Nobody can deny that Hush and I'm So Glad are good songs. Me likey. Now where's my mullet and stonewashed jeans with the knee cut out?

Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to be on my toes.

Invite a retard to a picnic and you'd better expect to get drool in the potato salad.
