I've noticed that, a lot of times in non-SW servers, I will play really badly and then someone will say "Not bad for a girl." This gets really insulting sometimes, as if gender affects play. Even if this was possible, I wouldn't want to be "felt sorry for." I have always measured myself up to male standards and probably will for the rest of my life (I probably wouldn't care whether I were a boy or girl if football wasn't an exclusively "male" sport and if certain things weren't said to me on TT). I.e., I will probably try out for football in a couple years and of course I will have to measure up against boys two years older than me and probably over 1.5 times my size.

What other stupid double standards have you guys encountered recently?

I would say (note: I am a HUGE nerd) tat "jocks"make fun of us nerds asnd geeks just cause we dont like sports, dont pay sports, and dont know anythin about sports.

Pretty much the only one for me is being extremely small for my age.
Probably the worst thing that happens is, whenever someone tries to guessmy age they guess around 8-9

I was what you might have call a "jock" in high school. Looking back, I'm sure I mistreated some "nerds", something that I'm not proud of. Know that when you're an adult, none of that high school crap matters. I wish I had payed more attetion to my grades.
Mon- I don't doubt the size of your heart, but please be careful. During my H.S. Glory days and my 1 semester of college, I had 2 concussions, 3 sprained ankles, and 1 dislocated shoulder. You should play football because you love the sport and think you can be a contribution to the team, not because you have something to prove.

Mon, just tell them that you are offended. If they continue going at it, report t to the admin circle. Simple as that. I know it gets completely offensive (I went under cover as a girl for GQSHOOTER one time, though I am still not sure I told her about that) and you do get a lot of rude remarks. The point is, you are one of the most mature people, male or female, that I have met in a while. And

I just tell them that when they are sweating out in the hot summer with a bunch of smelly guys, I am skating around in a nice, cool rink with a bunch of girls. So many fun combacks to those kinds of remarks when you are inteligent (and figure skate XD )

I really dont c why we have so much discrimination in our world. Like on the post pai made about homosexuality. I am not saying ppl say it is bad just saying tat it seems like an overlooked problem. Like on pai's thread many ppl stated stufff saying what ppl at work, or schoool say about it. Not to geet off subject I think u should tell playa about him and also tell him to find him in SW servers or any other one'sand u no what will happen next. Of course this is wut I would do XD

The great thing about high school (my high school anyways) NO ONE CARES! You could have purple hair and a mohawk (and there are at least 3 people in my high school like that) and people would just ignore you. You could be a complete oddball and someone would be wierder than you! If someone ever made fun of you, you could just get your friends behind you and they would back off.

Another annoying thing people do is that they keep pestering me that they "hacked into the mainframe" at school. Now, I know that this is total BS (who uses the word "mainframe" anymore? It's "server", people...), but to check if they'd really done what they say they did, I just ask them what text they added to our site. For an encore, I ask them if they know what Linux is.
