Already did that, 200 bucks towards better living conditions, clean water, food, blankets... I feel so proud of myself.
but now I'm dead broke...
Ya, I have given some clothes which are soon in airplane and going to sir lanka.
You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.
I'm donating also.
There's already a contingency of Quakers over there who are focusing on pairing up lactating mothers who've lost their babies with orpahend infants. There's not a lot of baby formula in that part of the world and the greatest urgency lies with the very very young.
This also serves as a bit of therapy for the mothers and may open up a few adoption possibilities.
Here's the link for this particular group... http://www.afsc.org/
It's amazing that the USA can have a missle ready at a moments notice ready to strike any position in the world in 20 miutes but it takes 8 days for aid to arrive in some of these places that are accessible by helicopter. One day we'll spend less on weapons and more on things like say.. Ummm... An under the ocean tsunami detection system.

I am only 12, I donated $20 (My sister donated $10), my Grandparents donated something like $2000.... Anyway, my church had a special collection for the tsunami victims, and I'm willing to bet that over $10,000 was raised that mass alone! (There were 4 masses.)
Such a horrible thing to think about the tremendous loss of life and suffering.
Thanks Katherine for posting info here.
Thanks for the link Sniper as well.
I'm going to make a donation too.

We donated too. It's good to see so many people helping out... From the average joes to even the big money celebs!
Sandra Bullock donated $1 million and the racer car champ Shumacher donated $10 Million!!!! Gulp!!!!
Still, every buck helps!!!

Hi all,
Start 2005 by helping tsunami victims who are desperately in need.
This is serious, and it is important.
We are all here because we have computers. Go to www.apple.com and click on one of the relief fund links. (I chose the Save the Children fund)
Put a donation of $25 (or whatever you can afford) on a credit card. You will not even notice the money is gone, it only takes a few seconds of your life, you will be helping people who are DESPERATELY in need....
...and your first act on the first day of 2005 will be to help people who REALLY need help.
