Hey RWS-

I have some questions and comments for you. I'm wondering what the deal is with being so heavy handed in your moderations over the last 12+ hours. Let me start by saying this. Some of the threads that were locked by you or other mods should have been, since they were essentially duplicates of others. But some of them should not have been locked or knifed in my opinion, and the opinion of others here.

Uhm, this is quite laughable RWS. How long have you been a member here? Wait lemme check. Ah, since August of this year, eh? Well, you're actually a junior member as far as this forum goes. Let me clue you in to some history around here, as an old-timer on this forum. Discussions like the one you locked have been going on for some time in the General forums, as have many others. Especially back when TankGirl was around, there were quite a few socially hot topics in these forums, and, overall, members here have enjoyed them. Sure, some folks didn't care for them, but I have never seen anyone lock threads such as those you did before in almost a year since I've been here.

NEWS FLASH!: The election has been over for about 1 1/2 days! If you're not going to allow people to vent for a few days about what is arguably the most important election in our lifetimes, maybe even in the history of this country, then you are truly an ass man! If that thread had gone on for weeks, THEN I can see locking it down. But that wasn't the case was it now? Don't be so hasty with your new powers, OK?

Again, really laughable. If you bothered to read past threads, you'll see that just about everything and anything relating to this game have been discussed and rehashed ad nauseam. There isn't much else to talk about relating to this game! (Unless you're cadc, and you start threads about how great you are. 8o )

Honestly, I couldn't care less if you've been a moderator since the dawn of the Internet itself. You've only been on ptt.com for a little over a 2 1/2 months. You need to learn that THIS community is a far cry different than the one you've been moderating elsewhere. Time to learn how this forum thinks and works, and not apply your own personal opinions to your moderator knife. Remember, you serve US as a community. Not yourself.

Also, I notice that you point out nastiness on the part of stinkfingers' posts. Sure, maybe some of the posts in those threads get a little heated, but I don't see Rabban or Tally locking up threads. Do you? Maybe they have more of a sense of what's acceptable than you do. In fact, I would say that's EXACTLY the ticket. Again, you've been here for only 2 months. Far shorter than any other moderator.

One last comment. As Dan MacDonald mentioned in his thread, the new moderators are being watched for conduct. Not just by him, but by all members of this community. I am watching you now closely. Take this however you want, but if I, and others continue to see overzealous moderating on your behalf, and you keep pissing off long standing respected members here, you can bet that I will organize a petition to Dan to have your moderator status revoked. Don't think for a minute that I won't follow through, or that enough dissenting voices here can't make it happen. Keep your Gestapo tendencies in check, or you may find yourself back down to the peon member status. Just chill a bit man. Got it?

Well said OM. I think RWS is a poor choice. While I'm sure many of the deletions are worthy ones, I find his lack of at least a basic understanding of the culture of the community somewhat disappointing.

Agreed. I have no clue how this guy came to be a moderator. He wasn't very well liked when he played as D a while back. His license to moderate should be revoked immediately. Heck, even I had enough sense to remove my own admin privileges from TT servers. I couldn't help but boot OM and anyone else that tallks about non-TT related material every chance I got. Hehe.

I deleted 2 posts in that thread which were low on content and made inapproriate references to animals.
One by ween and one by rogue, please don't do that.

Dash, no-ones complaining about your moderating, so far as I can tell. It's RWS who I think has gone a little overboard with it.

Again, you, Rabban, Tally and KBC have all been here for a long time, so you know what's acceptable and what's not. I'm not yet convinced this guy has enough of a handle on our community to be a moderator.

I have to agree with you all. I was on late last night when he started his CUTTING . I was very angry with some of his editing and comments. I have lost respect for him ! So I went to check how long he/she has been with us, that made me even more angry when I discovered he has only been with us for a short period. He/she in my mind really has no clue what PTT is about or what we are about !

Let me give you some examples.(UF)Ice wanted to change his name, here is his RWS comments and mine.

So I made this comment in return.

So I came back this mornig to see if he responded, here is his comment.

Now in Ice's name he/she has only 1 army listed so what is he talking about ? Now I 'm sure some of you are going to think it was the army comment that upset me ! Well its not. I do agree with him as far as people being in many different armies.

As far as RWS comment on what name Ice should use WhiskerBiscuit ! Now I will admit I am not sure what his idea of a WhiskerBiscuit is or how he came up with that but if I caught my children using that name they would be grounded for a while. To me that comment is talking about, having something on your beard or mustache ! Now I will not say what that something is but I am sure you adults here can figure out what it means. We have people tring to solict these children here on TT for sex, and ppl asking to have sex or making very gross comments on that same very line.

Now as far as RWS comment about me being wrong only 2% of the time. I am not perfect nor do I claim to be. I have my mistakes and poor choices just like the rest of you. Well I am going to shut up for now. I hope you all can understand my point of view on this. You may not like it but we all have that right. The point is I have shown you both side of this and not once did I use foul language or disrespect any one, if I did I am sorry ! I just wish we all could talk to each other here with out slamming them or their beliefs B)

@OM: I just wanted to let people know I deleted some things in there since it's becoming a controversial thread.

I think it's great we have moderators now. I also think we shouldn't forget -Z-'s vision here was to have freely chosen topics.

There's going to be a fine line there on some issues while others are blatant. I am much more trusting of Tal, Dash and the other more experienced PTT moderators making those decisions. I find their time spent here allows them to be more civil in their judgment and behavior.

What's up with this? I'd never even heard of this guy before some random odd posts on here. When I saw he's a moderator I thought, fine, he's obviously still in middle school, which means he'll only have an afternoon to do his stuff in. Unfortunately, it seems he's excellent at managing his time and can get in multiple thread locks in the few hours he has.
I'm pissed off about him locking the politics thread because I was about to get all righteous on stink, but now he's locking everything stink writes. Fo shame, fo shame. Go moderate your drug intake and see if you can do better than you have so far.

Yes I Think everybody is correct..
I've been on this forum for more than half an year and ive allways seen non-TT threads and starting to lock threads and piss off their creators...
And Really the person that PAYS MONEY (read here ) has been here for much more time and never locked threads like this!
