I use to be one of the worst bmers in TT.

My scrum skills has always been on top,

When im not laggin. In order for me to reach

Another level of play I had to learn how to shoot

Better. These are just somethings I've have done

To improve my shooting with great results.

1.bought a better mouse.(optical razer diamondack)

I had a basic mouse that came with my computer
you know the kind with the ball that collects drit, lint,
and what ever else is on your mouse pad.

2.adjust my mouse speed in the options area of TT.

I had it set in the mid range, it was ok butt I missed
lot when other tankers would pass by in close to my
tank, with the speed set higher I could keep up with
opponents tank and kill'em before they scored. Now I
have it set at 1/4 away from max.

3.use the green ring behind your target tank.

this will allow you to line up your shot a little better.
if you use just the red to aim with your may still
miss due to the deflection of your rounds. The red
should signal when to fire after line up with the green
ring behind your target.

4.practice in bm servers

I know this one sucks if you hate bm as much as
I do, but it does help. Try to get in servers with known
good bmers. The old saying goes, "you are only as good
as you practice."

If you make these adjustments it will improve your shooting,
just how much will be up to you.

Peace

Well, I believe I do quite well in battlemode if you don't mind my saying... ;) I use a laptop, aiming with the left hand on trackpad at sensitivity set to max, and move the tank with my arrow keys with my right hand :) I think that is opposite of most people, :o except Pretty in Pink who I have played with, who uses the same controls/settings/hardware as me, and is one of the few that can beat me :P so... In my humble opinion..... LAPTOP ROCKS! XD lol

Legionary's an excellent sniper. He hit my Boss UFO which was on a hill from the valley below pretty far away. My tactic is circle dodging. In goodfellas mod, whenever I'm in Light tank and see someone close enough in a medium, heavy or light tank who wants to shoot at me, I swing around him and all his shots fly behind me. Then I run a circle around the target to immobilise him and shoot him with Area or BounceBack shots. The constant motion never allows any shot hits and the enemy always gets either destoyed or disengaged. ;) XD XD :P

@disturbance

Thats a good tactic but how does
that improve your shooting?

@niko

I think im going to buy a lap top
ty for the info.

@legionary

So how do u shoot so well?

Reverse charging is best when someone charges at u. They r shooting at u but u can dodge them since u can c them unlike in charging where u both go fencing each other. Plus, no time waste in sliding or stopping and shooting is as easy as shooting a sitting duck cuz u both remain at the same distance. They cant dodge while trying to shoot u and you can pick em off in a few rapidfire bursts. In a Death Valley confrontation with dan, I killied him 30 times for 1. He never managed to hit me without BBs. X/

I think B-mode is better than Scrum. Scrum is only good in team and bm is lousy in teams.

I think you are right Vash : "you are only as good as you practice."
For improving my shoot its the first thing I did : practice in BM.
& now something which made me do a jump in shooting is to change my reticle & my reticlespot : brighter which help to see far your aim than b4...
Hope it helps & have fun to play TT. :)

I've done those and I still get beat on by smoking tanks! Could you think of anything more I could do? I do not shoot well on the move.

@ AO1 : change all that can improve the brightness of your target : skins & as u did reticle & reticle spot : needs to be very bright !
& u told u r new here : practice & practice again : less than 2 months I was desperate to improve my shooting but w/ practice it's now acceptable (im far to be the best...).

DON'T GIVE UP !!!!!! :P

To improve my shoting I go to solo.

Well I personally always play with a trackpad, with computer settings AND ThinkTanks setting set to highest sensitivity... I shoot with my left hand on trackpad, and my right hand on the arrow keys. I'm the only person I know who really does it this way... So don't take much advice on the subject from me. XD One thing is to shoot in uneven, unpredictable bursts, and learn to shoot your bullets coordinated with your movement, which should be inconsistent, also. Taking out a very good player should take a little less than half-health, for you, Vash. It depends on their fighting technique. For me, I look how they fight. I see if they fight a certain way, I know what they can and can not do, so I go for their weakness. My ability to adapt to any terrain and junk is what I'm proud of.

I'm definetly a good sniper, I love Repent's Mountian Mod cuz of all the good sniping weapons. Once I was on a team of 2 (me and a bot) v.s. Like 4 people and I ended up taking 1st place :)

I used to eat a lot of natural foods until I learned that most people die of natural causes.

???

It always depends on who you are fighting.

If you are playin against me, you will find I like to get in close
to inflict as much damage to my adversariesas possible, with this tactic
you win some and you lose some, but its ment for scrum not bm.

If you are in a bm server than I guess NIKO is right, it is a good idea
to conserve your health if possible. That means in order to improve
in a bm server you may want to work on your angles and backward driving.

That way you can advoid rounds while at the sametime infilcting damage
to your opponents.

Using my tactic in a bm server (by getting in close) will leave you very weak
and a easy kill, but I am a very agressive person.
(when I play bm I play to kill not win.)

Anyhoo if you follow my stepps you will improve some, in bm or scrum.

Keyword here I guess is PRACTICE

I took your advice, Vash. I got a Logitech G5 laser mouse. What an improvement on shooting. This is great information for the newbies, like me. Respectfully, Major Bummer

^ Fantastic purchase, the G5 is a serious mouse and worth the money - had mine for about 8 months and would not be without it. Loved is so much also bought the matching G15 keyboard, and lovin that as well.

The G5 comes highly rated especially from the players I know have them and play TT with it XD

Another good tip I have found is to
aim for the brain jar of your opponent.

This will help you to keep your rounds
on target.

Have fun.

And see you on the field.

Yeah, the ONLY way to improve your shooting is practice, practice, practice! For an extra fine edge, equipment is a BIG help too. I have 2 Razor Diamondback's, a Logitech G-5, and a Logitech wireless G-7, the latter being my fav. When I first got the G-7, I was really amazed at the fact that it has zero lag, and is every bit as responsive as my wired G-5. Just amazing, and the fact that you can program different DPI settings for your "X" & "Y" axis, I find is a great advantage too. (I prefer a higher DPI setting on my "Y" axis, for aiming elevation, as it seems less sensative than the "X" horizontal is.) For driving, I wouldn't part with my Nostromo N-52 Speedpad, by Belkin. You can program it any way you like, including macro settings (Great for changing tank types on the fly!), and it takes a beating, saving your keyboard, and fits like a glove. If you dig TT, and got the gold, try 'em out! They certainly make practicing, practicing, practicing, a lot more fun & accurate! ;>)

Maybe equipment does help, but I have simple $10 mouse and my aim is pretty darn good ;)
So yeah, practice definitely. Maybe equipment does help too, but I wouldn't know :P

Well its REALY hard to practice your aiming...took me a year or 2 :'(... But its easy to practice ur shot rate....took me a month...
