Forums Index >> General >> Getting Access to Dash Bash

Page : <1> :

Hi All,

I thought I might post a quick note to help people out trying to access Dash Bash. Dash has included some new maps in the rotation, and due to the new rotation there is an error when one of the maps is trying to load up so here is my advice:-

Click here , and follow the link.

Load the maps in that thread, and follow the instructions.

Voila!!! You can now play hassle free.

Post any questions here, otherwise I will see you in TT land for some rocking fun.

Adios.

SK

PS:- Please make sure you read this note from Roo....

@all
make sure you copy the "dtt" folder to your missions folder as well as the maps (ter files)
This is the artwork (skins etc) that go with dashs maps
Its a must have or you get the dreaded InpropArtError
hope this helps

The only map needed from that download is TT1_9 which is the Whoopie Plains map. So far I think its the only new addition to Dash server. If you only put that (TT1_9.mis) into game/data/missions folder you don't need to back up anything. (I do suggest to make a copy of the whole game directory as back up in case you try modding or adding scripts ext.. ),but if you let it replace TT1_1.mis, TT1_2.mis,TT1_3.mis and TT1_4.mis you will be replacing the original Think Tanks lush maps. Then you will not be able to host them.

@ CB,

I agree with you comments, but please note that there are other maps there in the rotation mix, and I have noticed that some of the non tbml are waiting excessive times trying to load up the maps such as DC2.

SK

PS:- Contrary to any advice you might have been given, always remember to back up.

As long as you don't host, you can overwrite the mission files (.mis), just not the terrain files. (.ter)

I believe that all of these files are in the mod pack and the expansion pack 2.

These are the maps on the current rotation. I may have missed few as I played.

(orig. Maps)
Medulla Mesa(tweaked mis)
Hypathalamus Hills

(new maps)
DC2 (DC2.ter)
Trinity (D16.ter)
wiztriv05: Balletomania (wiztriv05.ter)
DB10 (DB10.ter)

You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.

@ Triv,

I was conversing with Dash yesterday, and I addressed this issue with him. Maybe it was in the too hard basket and withdrew Whoopee Plains from the rotational mix.

In any case it never hurts to download the Map Pack from reagentx.com.

@ Litter,

You second option is to reload the maps. I am assuming that you will find the answer to your troubles here.... http://reagentx.home.comcast.net/#anchor

Just download the complete pack from Reagentx.com, and hopefully this should resolve any issues.

Please follow all instruction carefully!!!

Singular download for all the new maps if that helps someone.

1. Click any of the links below and download the file and save it to your desktop
2. Locate your thinktanks missions folder
The missions folder is in a variety of places depending on where you purchased thinktanks, your operating system, and how you chose to install it. Finding your thinktanks missions folder is beyond the scope of this document. I will simply refer to it as ThinkTanks/game/data/missions
3. Copy & paste/drag the file to ThinkTanks/game/data/missions.
(by dash)

DC2
D16
wiztriv05: Balletomania
DB10
(note: depending of your internet brower the files may just show up as plain text)

You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.

@ Kitty/Litter,

It could be a problem with the DTT folder too. Have you also installed this as well??

Hmm, maybe kitty/litter would have some luck with fresh-step?

Thanks guys problems sorted I can get on all maps,

Saturday, November 05, 2005 at 2:44:15 AM

If something crash it's most likely problem with the dtt folder. Make sure you have in ThinkTanks/game/data/missions/dtt folder five files: FTerrain01, FTerrain02, FTerrain03, FTerrain04 and detail1. (You may have to create folder called 'dtt' to missions.) One guy had that as the problem for not getting in. By the way, he had downloaded the maps.

You have these five files already in ThinkTanks/game/data/terrains/FTerrain and ThinkTanks/game/data/terrains/details folders.
You can copy & paste: FTerrain01-04 from FTerrain folder to dtt folder and detail1 from details folder to dtt folder.

Same files for dtt also found from here .

You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.
