I've got a 2nd generation 20gb ipod that I really like - I have about 3000 songs on it and often use it to move large files.

My son has a newer 20gb with the dock connections and I like it too. I'll be getting my wife an ipod mini soon - I think we'll visit our local Apple store when they're in stock so I can also pick up the new iLife.

I thought seriously about the ipod photo but just couldn't justify it since I just got a Treo 650 pda/phone for myself for Christmas. I could bite on a satellite radio/ipod that is rumored for later this year.

I have a 3rd gen 15GB iPod that I'm pretty happy with. Although I think the iPod shuffle was an excellent move for Apple, it's not for me personally. I like being able to pick and choose at a moments notice, which song I'm playing on my iPod. I have to admit though, that the low-end $99 model is pretty tempting at that price. I'm refraining from getting it because that $99 will surely go toward some other Apple goody, like the new iLife '05 or possibly even the Mac mini if I can justify it to myself. B)

Regardless of how I feel about the Shuffle, this artcle from iPodlounge makes it clear that it's off to a great start as another resounding success from Apple. The San Francisco Apple Store sold 2,000 iPod Shuffles within 4 hours of it's release. Looks to me like they've got another hit on their hands.

Oops, I meant that I'm getting the wife an iPod shuffle - I think that I can justify a new mac mini for myself.

I own a PNY Vibe 512mb player. I like it alot, it runs off of one AAA battery, so not much battery life. But who cares? And I don't have too many songs, so it's perfect for me.

This is what I use:

Not the best MP3 player. It costs about $60 and it only holds 40 songs, but it's also a jumpdrive, and I like it because you put the USB port in like this:

I have a 20gb iPod, 4th generation, which I got this christmas and already I have about 600 songs on it, thanks to a handy thing I found in an issue of MacAddict - Streamripper. As they explain it, it lets you rip songs off of iTunes radio stations to put on your library, and as far as I can tell, it's legal...if it wasn't legal, why would they put a website up for it and publish it in a magazine read by hundreds of people?
