This has happened to me twice where as when I'm loading everything go play as soon as the loading bar for objects is full it freezes. I know sometimes it stalls but once I just left it there for a good half hour and it didn't move. I can move the mouse and click cancel to get out but it anoys me that even though I retry I still can't get in. This has happened to me on two mods that I can't get into now; one of the CTF's and some other mod. Both did have other people in it so I know it wasn't just the mod. Any advice?

There is a known bug (which is being fixed) which will cause this, and that is 'double clicking' on the 'launch game' or 'join game' buttons. In effect, the game tries to join you twice, and the server attempts to send all the game/map information to you twice. This then confuses both computers and will create the 'freeze' on the loading bar.

However, this may not be the reason. Is it still happening on CTF? If so, find out which map it was on.. I.e. Does it only happen when its Cranium Crater, or is it on every game. Both of the CTF servers are running from the same game and same data etc so it would be odd that you can get into one and not the other. It may have been when I was doing some camera experiments on one server but I cant see why that would affect the loading. For other mods, it is possible that they have changed the textures or maps etc around and perhaps are even using custom ones that you don't have installed. This too would probably lead to the 'loading freeze'

No. It just does it to a random server. I coulnd't even get into thinktanks server 13 once. It just happens for a few hours and then it lets me in again

"ThinkTanks server" is the default name that 'create game' uses unless you specify a different server name. Chances are it was someone trying to host a game with a firewall up or something which prevented some of the mission files from being sent to you.

No no no.it is on a lag filled game. A game can not load durring lag, thus...a long period of lag in game will halt the progress of the loading...

Question... Nobody is running a server with a dialup are they??

I've run a server with dialup before. One person can join and be fine. Anymore than that it bogs down bad for them.
