Page : <1> :

I really hate to create a whole thread about this, but I really cn't edit GL's header. It just doesn't show up at the bottom of the page. Is this something new, or is it because a mod has edited it before? I have some important updates that I kinda want to get up there, but this is very impossible right now... Help?

Pardon my rudeness, I cannot abide useless people.

Scroll through the page. I beleieve the edit box has been relocated.

Nope. Went through three times. Still nothin.

EDIT: well, editing this works. Also, logging out then back in didn't work.
Testing the new edit tags.

-Z- is experimenting with new editing features (basically a new tag option would clearly show when editing has been done by a moderator, as opposed to an edit done by the initial poster).
One current side-effect is that once a Moderator has edited a post, it cannot be edited again by the initial poster. :(
Passed it along too...
Thanks for your patience while PTT is undergoing renovations! :)
Is that true? I think the edit tag can only be used by moderators/admins, but I'm not sure it locks the post.
...hmmm, lemme see. Off to edit PG's 2nd comment.

PG, can you do me a favor and try to take out the edit I made in your second post? I think the new edit feature is just something that can be used to differentiate an edited portion of an original post, but can only be used by Admins/Moderators. I don't think it locks you out of it.
This would be an example of what an edit would look like from one of us.

I got you there

^Giggle :)
*Note to self. I've got to read the News section more often.

Also note and be warned that, if your comment has been edited by a moderator, you are now unable to edit it again yourself - or even delete it. Think before you post something you may later regret.

This is the thread.

I cannot edit it myself! :o I don't think any moderators touched the thread. It says last update in Nov. 2005.
KBC any luck editing the header?
Could be a bug... I passed it along to the PTT gods... :)

Bingo!

One thing I think would be good, is with the editing panel, if there's any way to put it at the location of the original post?
And then have the page jump to that location?
A lot of times you are editing something with reference to the surrounding context. If your the last post in the list then it's natural to have the edit pane at the bottom but if it's something in the middle of the thread it becomes something of a nuisance.

The edit box will be at the top of the first page of the thread. You need to go back to page 1 and then edit.

You sure you checked well?
Go to page 1 of your thread,
http://supra.planetthinktanks2.com/archives/comm-thread.asp?thread=7300&forum=13&page=1
click edit under the thread header, (let the page reload)
and then check at the very top of the page (NOT at the bottom like usual), it should be there.

(ok woot it worked)

We need a way to edit the topic on threads we started. I think it may help cut down on the number of new threads being made.

Good idea. I was often frustrated by this impossibility. I'm passing it along :)
