That's the same thing I been thinking and I think many scriptors are working on that too.

I tried to do that.. What is easy is to make the observer control another tank :)......
No, don't want control. Just want to observe. Would be interesting to watch my evolving bots slug it out, or to watch a game of scrum through the eyes of the other players.
Just a thought.... Get the position of a player and have the position of the observer like 5 units above it...
then you could add the name matching thing to pick the tank you want to follow.... Then the ability to unfollow... Etc..
I think I could do this but then I would need my computer wont I?
Herm, warfare, it would be really uncertain (like lag) and the hardest is to get a correct position behind the tank..
TMO the closest thing right now is game footage from a player's perspective (Quicktime7 required).

Was mostly curious to ride around 'live' in a tank. Wasn't sure if it would cause lag, as I'm not doing anything, just receiving an echo feed of someone else's actions.
I am not talking about behind the tank, that would involve vector junk...
just make the observer 5 units up on the z axis from the position of the tank being followed
I assume this would make it less laggy ( but laggy still ) and easier to code

Is it possible to write a script so that a player in Observation mode can piggyback onto another tank, either player or bot? Basically watch the game from the other tank's viewpoint? That would be interesting - to watch someone else play and see what they see.
