We are getting an 8-port switch for doing a ThinkTanks LAN party to get more people into this game, however, two PCs don't have good graphics cards, what should I upgrade to? One doesn't have an AGP slot so I'm going to have to use good ol' PCI. And one has a Geforce 256 card with 32mb's of graphics RAM, will it run?

I found an XFX Geforce 5200 for under $80 that is PCI. That should work, right?

Here's what we have so far:

Main PC: 800mhz Athlon
512 RAM, Geforce FX 5600XT

PC 2: 800mhz K7
768 RAM, Geforce FX 5600XT

PC 3: 2.1ghz Athlon XP
1gb RAM, Geforce FX 6600GT

PC 4: 500mhz Celeron
256 RAM, No Video Yet

PC 5: 433mhz PII
512 RAM, Geforce 256

PC 6: 500mhz PII
256 RAM, Geforce 256

Thanks!

I used to run TT on a 866 P3 with a Geforce 256. Don't know how well it will run on a P2.. But it should at least run.

The 5200 will be able to run TT, as long as you can keep it cool enough. I've seen problems with a 5200 without a fan over heating and locking up when running anything 3d.

Anyone in PTT land running TT on a PII?

I used to run TT on a dual 733mhz PIII with a Diamond Viper V770. (Riva TNT2) It ran pretty fast... 40 fps max on a good day.

Now, that's my server.

I'm runing TT on a 16 mb card ( low quality) so the 32 mb wil run fine

It works! Runs constant 20-30 FPS on low setting with islands turned on.

YAY!

Installing Exp. Pack.
