Forums Index >> General >> A 'Report' feature?

Page : <1> :

It would be nice to have a little 'Report' button added to the bottom of all posts. When it is clicked, the person will be taken to a page that says:
[X] Are you sure you want to report this post?
[ Continue ]

Or something similar.
When they click continue, it sends it out to all of the moderators e-mail (or the main PTT e-mail) for evaluation by a moderator, and decided wether it can be deleted, edited, or left alone.
For punishment of repeat offenders of 'false reporting' could be silencing, report feature taken away from them, or something else to be decided apon. But I would say be easy on people that do over-use it, because they are usually just trying to help. But for the people that report un-reportworthy post frequently, then action should be taken.

Thoughts?

Great post.

I think that would be a good idea except for one little thing..

It sends it out to all of the moderators e-mail..

I think just one would work out. Roatating, perhaps.

Alot of sites do it via Private Messages....but since PTT has no private messaging system, thats a no go.

I made up a little example: Clicky!
I couldnt get the javascript to work on the button to enable/disable it though.

And I think Lone would like this also, would make it a much easier job. :)

The 'Report this post' link in the corner is what I was thinking also, it just linked to the page I made. The pop-up box is nice also, though.
