Vash and I were taking turns handing a TT legend his ass four games in a row. And the excuses were flying... Even accused us of being on a team! This on top of our handing him his ass the night before...sometimes vash wins, me second, sometimes the other way around.

Totally agree. It might serve as a warning to those other big-headed "legends" or "vets" out there.

Also, I highly advise taking screenshots of the score long BEFORE the end of the game just in case they quit to avoid being listed in the final score screen. I have a cool tool that will allow you to take several screen captures at a time, allowing you to pick the ones you want to use/keep.

One is called clipbook... Another is cliptray.... And there's others too.

Never liked screen-shots...too much like braggin. As far as my bringing this up at all...i did it because enough is enough. This guy needs some perspective. If you've been playing this game for a while, you know who I'm talking about. I have never, ever seen anyone lose as poorly as this guy. Except maybe anonymous.....hmmmmmmmm.

Come to think of it...their play is very similar: bm, dive, whine when they lose, brag when they win....wouldn't be a bit surprised.

That was pretty funny last night, the guy in question is very skillful, but he needs to realize chances are u will lose in this game, and u dont have to blame any thing but luck, not lag, not teams, or your lap top, it just happends from time to time to all of us.

Agree, I was in a game with two guys using aliases, they had similar game, I knew one of them was anonymous just by his comments, and the other was to familiar to not know who it was, long story short they lost focus fighting each other and I won the game. He he. I think there are two out there who take this game to seriously.

Hey vash, you left too soon, in the last couple minutes of the last game I stole the scrum from him twice and scored, then weaved around him for another easy score: then I accused HIM of being on MY team...very funny. I said "well, why do you keep handing me the flag?"....so, I antagonized him a little, but, christ, after that tongue lashing, he deserved it.

Point is, his attitude is like he deserves to win every game....vash is right. No one can win them all. Sometimes you just get crappy luck in this game that no amount of skill can make up for.

TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT!!!

I was in that server for a couple rounds and am here to state for the record that Stinky and Vash were teaming up! I personally witnessed it first hand! Vash was in the goal and stinky was approaching with the scrum... I watched Vash back up and let Stinky score unchallenged! Plus, when we were chasing the scrum, they never shot at eachother! They even admitted it while we were playing. I called them on it and vash said;

LOL, it was funny when you said it then and it's funny now that I recal it XD

By the way... Hanksta won that round 8 to stinky's 7 ;) I scored 3 and vash ended up with a big fat "zero"! I showed up half way thru the round before and got 5 easy goals. Vash won that round with a score of 8, Hanksta didn't do too bad considering it was 2 on 1, he ended up with 6 and Stinky was too busy battlemoding Hanksta, he only scored 1. I had to leave unannounced half way thru the 3rd round, so I don't know how it ended. But I'm telling ya... They were teaming up!

@Vash and Stinky, XD Talk about taking the game too seriously XD hahahaha I'd like to see how well you fend in a 1 on 1.

Both of you are known for taking numerious identities, I would'nt be surprised if either one of you were Anon (whom I personally have a lot of respect for) He's an Ass Hole, no doubt about it... But he backs his shit up with action. Unlike some people who are nothing but "all talk"!

Actually Stink and Vash, sometimes you always win. Not in indy scrum, of course - the camping lurker's, spawn-after-diving paradise where possession only counts near the goal. (I'm sure you did what you do best :))

But, in team scrum, it's possible. Case in point would be my team, the Team Scrum Champions. We were 4 and 0 until Bolo joined, and now we're 9 and 0. We've lost 3 individual games, but have never lost a match. Never. We've played against the cream of the crop and never backed down from a challenge. Now, we have no challenges.

Maybe your decision not to use the ignore script, to be around this "enigma", and team up on him were precursors to your posting, gloating, and, ultimately, the bonding you feel today. Sounds like you owe him one. Obviously, if you can beat the best, you can take on the best. We await your challenge. Keeep tooting boyz.

In the real world, someone acts like that around other people, they get shunned. Or they get the living hell beat out of them (note my picture...i'm not 3 feet tall...i'm 6'3'', 215lbs and I train in and teach NHB fighting [which is why I just had my acl reconstructed])...i doubt if many of you would feel comfortable in calling me an a-hole to my face. That's the thing -- I doubt if anybody who plays this game would call anyone else a name to their face...its just basic civility to treat each other with respect. But then again, in the real world you can't hide behind a computer so there are REAL consequences to acting like an a-hole.

Truth be told, this is why I quit playing for a while in the first place. Every other TT game I'm on has some foul-mouthed adolescent ruining the game for everyone else. And then you get the one or two vets who think they own the place talking all their crap and bad mouthing people when they can't pull off the win...

Yuck. Maybe you can have this damn game....

Arg... What am I saying? Look, I'm sorry dude. I just call it as I see it. I was in that server with you and it was apparent to me that you and vash were teaming up. Whether you were or not, I don't know for sure, nor do I care, I really don't think it matters. It is after all "just a game".

What does matter is that Jangy just challenged you and vash to a 3 on 3. Sounds like fun... Let me know if you need a 3rd. I'm not the greatest, but I certainly don't suck.

Oy 8o this topic again... I spoke to the FCC about it. They said that the creators of TT's has to implement security measure to prevent such abuse, especially sense kids are exposed to it! Joe and the Pascal Brothers (TT creators) then assured me that they were working on it and the next version of TT's will have those security measures.

Arty, maybe I have strayed into "whining" territory! Not my intention...just a plea for sportsmanship. Would it be fun to play the unvanquished three on three? Playing would be fun...listening to the gloating would be all-too-familiar. They've earned the right to brag...doubt if they have the decency not to.

Here's two cents from somebody who has played against all of the above mentioned players many times, read many of their posts, responded to many of their in-game messages and has a sense for who their online personalities are...

Stink and Vash are both extremely good players and capable of beating a field made up of any number of "legends". More importantly though (in my mind), they play with class and integrity, are intelligent guys and are not sore losers.

If Stink and Vash tell me that they weren't teaming up -- I believe 'em. Further, I have no trouble imagining a lot of the names above deserving a good calling out once and a while...especially the ones who don't know how to lose with class.

The players I choose to respect exhibit many more characteristics than simply "being talented at manipulating a cartoon tank around a screen". I have much respect for Stink and Vash; much less for some other names above.

@stink, I hear ya bro... Sore winners annoy me too. I'm sorry, I might've exaggerated the story a bit to get under your skin... Actually, you and tanky tied that round 7 - 7. I like playin with u, I think u play with good sportsmanship, I know all that crap u posted was because u got your boy tankys back, but instead of backing him u should be checking him. If u want to chanllenge me so be it, as I stated before any time any place, thats y I play this game. As far as camping, diving, and bming gos, I always say u start it and I will finish it.

I like tanky I like the competition he brings to the game, the only time I talk sh** to him is when he starts the tanky losing routine, as far as teaming up believe what u want, we did not team up against him. I wouldnt need to team up against him at any point I have beaten him enough by myself to a point were he has to change his name to challenge me, u have witnessed it fisrt hand when I called him on it and he confessed to it.

Its funny that u mention that, if it is anon that trashing me he would let me know who he is at the end of the game according to him, and I can count on one hand how many times hes mention that he was anon, and thats if he won, its a different game when u think u are playin against a noob...

I've lost my temper from time to time, also. My point was, let's try to be a little more civil toward each other...and hanky is a repeat offender in my book...i doubt if any of us would be major a-holes to each other outside of real life, including the hanksta.

And you silly SOB, we were'nt a team! He wasn't getting the luck, and he wasn't playing well...everyone has an off night. That's when you just say "gg" and let it go at that. But, if your attitude is that you are the king kong of TT, and how dare someone beat you...well, I guess you say something else. Dat was the only reason MM..a poke. A public poke. Because his crap gets outta hand. We all poke at anonymous because of his crap...i'm poking at Tanky for his repeated crap. I've poked at others, and others have poked at others. I have gone off in this forum about a lack of civility and poor sportsmanship in the games. This is a continuation of that theme.

Sick of the poor sports...for the most part, TT people are decent sports...most of the vets included. I'm just sick of the chump quasi tough guys who degrade and attempt to intimidate through their abusive language...never have like bullies and braggarts.

I have a theory. I've played sports throughout highschool, and competed in Martial arts in one form or another for the last 15 years (point sparring first, kick-boxing and sport jiu-jitsu lately) the people I encountered/encounter who compete in a physical activity are amazingly gracious with one another. We give it our all, but when its over...smile, shake hands, pat on the back in the spirit of competition and in the spirit of fraternity (we share the same passion). It was the same in high school. No one would dream of gloating or put one-another down. In the rare instances that someone transgressed this unwritten code...there were immediate consequences of one type or another.

My theory is this: people who exhibit poor sportsmanship in TT are physical cowards who've never been good at anything else in their lives and find an expressive outlet for their insecurities via abusive or intimidating language. All because their one success in life is manipulating a cartoon tank around a screen. Their sense of self is entertwined with a CARTOON TANK. They hide behind their computers like wanna be tough guys who yell obsenities from speeding cars...the doors all locked up.

It is pathetic and cowardly.

Well I´ll put in my 2 cents. I like playing with people that are better than me, it helps my game to get better. I don´t like it when someone wins and then they find that they have to rub it in after that, or they start to lose and then comes the "g2g" and their gone or they just leave without saying anything. That is a sure sign of a poor sport for me. I´m really glad that I don´t really care if I win or lose, I just want to have fun playing. You know there are many factors in this game to take into consideration. We here in Europe play TT on the Shockwave servers with a constant 170-190 ping. When we shoot at someone we have to wait for almost a quarter of a second before anything happens. If you want to be a sport come to Bob´s place when you see it up and check out how we play without lag just to be a good sport and give us a chance to see how it is when the shoe is on the other foot.

I think we should all take a page from stinky's book. I don't know who he is referring to, but there are many players out there that let loose with the abuse, on the other team as well as their own team, when they are losing. I must say I'm a little guilty of this myself on an occasion or two.

Today I spent the whole day with my wife and kids at the Zoo, as for anytime during the day I'm either working or I'm watching my children, the only times I play TT is after 9PM unless the kids go to bed early.

Sometimes I go a few days without playing.
