People have been running servers with cruelty

They will kick players before joining, they will kick players just for eliminating someone, they fill pop your brain for "being a punk"(said on the screen), they will give you disgusting names, like words describing female genetalia, they will ban people from talking.

Once my friend and I were kicked because "I feel like it" (said on the screen)

And these things are done on servers that DEMOs can reach; levels like MI: Banlist lush Indy and Shockwave Server 9

They will also stop your tank from moving

What should one do

That is strange for MI banlist. As for shockwave, you must have wandered into a fake server, because there are no admins in normal shockwave servers.

I would just avoid those servers and play at servers like roosters, leps or dash's. Those are all highly reputable.

Welcome to the world of the Losers who are banned from most other servers, These ppl who do what you are talking about are most likely unable to play the good servers. They are little punk kids with no manors or supervision. They have been banned from almost every server you can see, so now they are making there on servers and treating ppl really bad. Which is there right to do so in there own server. Just make note of those kind of places and don't go back, There are many great servers as Racer pointed out, and the shockwave server you went into was a fake server that the little maggot named it to look like a shockwave server. You may come to my server and expect a good game. I control these noobs with GIRL POWER and they hate me so bad. Which tells me I have succeded in hosting the right way.
And if you go into a server and make a jerk out of yourself by annoying the other players expect to be put out of the server. DUH

I admit, I ban people when they just join... Sometimes whit reasons, sometimes whitout... (tho, I'm only admin at my own server)

Here's the other side of the story:
Demo DaBob had the rules of scrum patiently explained to him whereupon he expressed defiantly that he enjoyed eliminating people. The in-game ban function doesn't work at the MI:Banlist server so we were left with repeatedly kicking DaBob and Demo Loser (self named). There were three admins trying to outdo each other and we got creative about dissuading the two demos from returning.

DaBob, boobs are not genetalia and its was an affectionate alteration of your name into a nickname. :)
