One thing that you have missed DJ ( I really don't care, I think it was somewhat god, somewhat eveolution) is that natural selection all comes down to nothing eventually. The bots would keep on fighting till there was nothing left. ::looks aroud:: hey! Something!
And another thing; what if we were created by aliens? They could be monitoring us right now. And we have not yet found the missing link either. There are an infanite number of possiblilties. But, lets look at infinaty here for a sec (a thank a hardcore bushluver for this peice of knowelege)
Lets say I have an infanite amount of, say, beans. Each one is numbered. Say I take six of those beans away. Infinity - 6 = infinity. Now, lets just say, I give you all of the beans marked 7 and above. Infinity - 6 = 6. Now how is that possible? Wait, one more! Lets say I give you every other bean outa my pile. Infinity - infinty =...infinity. Think about that. Just imagibe the vastness of that orb. No living being of normal inteligence (keeping in mind of aliens) could have made such a variablistic fucntion. This points to a creator. Hoho! ;)
Do not mean to offend anyone
Pardon my rudeness, I cannot abide useless people.
All of it is total bull. The Flying Spaghetti Monster obviousely created the universe.
It's pretty funny how bent out of shape lefties get when talking about IDT. Wow, the T stands for........THEORY. Its just a........THEORY. You know, the scientific method......THEORY. Hypothesis. Clean your shorts out already....Jeez.
Its just a dream
To associate scientific method with IDT is false. IDT advanced by a bunch of nuts. The Catholic church doesn't even have a problem with science and evolution. They just say evolution is "God's doing".
If you knew anything at all about IDT, you'd know its not something created by the Catholic church. Get rid of the stereotypes already. Its another postulation on creation taking evolution and using possible theological explanations to fill in some very big blanks. Nobody said it was perfect or completely true, hence the theory. Get over yourself already.

OK, I've been sick of right-wing ideas being crammed down my throat for some time, but recently, they've been cramming so hard that I'm trying to barf 'em right back up. Lo and behold, my first thread to stir up political debate. So here it comes, get ready to get pwned...
I'm going to disprove IDT, using my own logic and a few outside sources.
IDT, from what I've heard, means that species with complex features (feathers, organs, etc...) have to have been made by some external force, be it a creator (which IDT explicitly says it ISN'T...) or some OTHER creator (which again, IDT says it isn't...) or someone else that fits into the equation somewhere.
-Point 1: Who IS the intellegent designer? If it isn't God, who IS it?
Gotcha already, but that's probably not enough. OK, let's go on. Here's another theory: Billions upon billions of speies with various changes relative to who they are today (i.e. A chameleon without a color-changing ability, a primitive human with no lungs) existed some long period of time ago. And hey, some of them die. A large fraction, actually. A HUGE fraction. Leaving the fittest to survive. Hey, it works...
-Point 2: There are other ways to get the same results sans IDT.
And does it work? Well, while we're on PTT, lemme put it this way: One way of building a bot is to guess all the settings and type in values you think'll pwn other players. That represents intelligent design. Another way is to make hundreds of bots with slight variations (i.e., higher/lower weight for obsessive compulsion) and monitoring the results. The fittest bots move on for the next round, with less fit "species" being eliminated. That would actually be better than Bot IDT because there's feedback.
-Point 3: The evolutionist method would not only work, but yield better results.
So when you actually sit down and think about it, "intelligent" design theory has more holes in it than Darwinism. Guess it isn't so intelligent afer all...
And I'm not trying to hurt anyone or say their idea's wrong, just point out some major flaws and point out why my faith remains with the scientific method. Stop trying to convert me, dang it! I'm staying Jewish.
