Hi guys,

I haven't poked my nose here in a while. I have to say that I am disheartened at the new militant direction of the Moderators.
Some of the moderators might be confusing the word "Communism" with "Community". Please don't edit, lock, or erase this post just because you don't agree with it's content. This is not dirty, offensive or off topic. This IS completely on topic. Locking this thread because you don't approve of the content is setting a dark mandate for the community.

The pendulum is swinging too far the other way.

What made this forum interesting was the lively debates and discussions of all things. It was a "community". The current direction of "Moderation" here is actually destroying what little good there was left in this forum.

At least one of the moderators is CLEARLY being subjectively abusive of his power here and he will further undermine the community with an imbalanced approach to moderation.

One of the main problems here is the short sentence in the Forums Index that describes this forum as "For all other Think Tanks related posts". There are plenty of other forums here is this site to discuss ad nauseam all things TT. This forum has always been about the community.

What makes people keep coming back over and over again is the COMMUNITY.... You want to talk about tactics, go to the tactics forum, wanna talk about mods, go to the mods forum, how about teams? Go to the teams forum....

To lock or erase threads that are "off topic" here in the general forum is to kill the life of this community.

Just my thoughts.

I want to say that I agree.. I personally kind of liked the wild west of un-moderated forums. People were continually complaining, so more moderators were created, and now (obviously) things are getting out of hand with the moderation.. Let this be a lesson to all.. Be careful of what you ask for, you just might get it.

Its good to know TG is still lurking about. Perhaps she's polishing off the ole scrum ball?

I agree to an extent. What fun would life be if you were constantly thwarted from goofing on the shortcomings of others? Isn't that what life is all about? I think I read this somewhere in the Bible. I think it read, "Thou shalt goof on thy neighbor with impunity."

Come on, I know I'm not the only who types as if I were in a rage but also while laughing hysterically. Am I wrong? Or is this less impersonal than I think?

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Dan already contacted me via email to see if I would be interested in being a moderator. I had to decline due to my schedule.
When I saw (a while back) that moderators were being voted for, I started to write a post asking if I could be a moderator. I have ALWAYS wanted to be a moderator here. But I erased the post-in-progress as soon as reality got the best of me. I just don't have the time.

Besides, you want to talk about getting under the collective skin of the worlds testosterone-laden youth? Just have a girl edit or delete a mini-macho-man's rant about himself (which is the virtual equivalent of fighting about who has the biggest penis). I can only imagine how much flaming I would get. Every kid who has issues with his mother would be taking shots at me.... Lol.

Which does bring me to the final straw as to why I chose not to offer my services as moderator.... The nasty emails that I already get from a few degenerates of the community would probably increase, by some accounts, they might increase dramatically. This fact alone is enough for me to not want to bother. The whole reason that I started losing interest in visiting the forums was because the fun was diminishing and the jerks were becoming prominent. Being a moderator would mean that I would actually focus on the parts of the community that are not fun.... And this whole thing is supposed to be fun, right? I know that someone has to do the job, but the reality is that I am too affected by someone who is being a jerk... It really gets to me.

One last note, NOTHING in this world would have brought me as much pleasure as stomping the life out of the degenerates that bubble up from the dark recesses of the community, but I just don't have the time, and I want to focus what little extra time I have on having fun, usually in the game itself.

Aloha TG, it's good to see you're still around :) How's YooDooRight doing? I remember back in the days, he was one of my favorite scrum competitors. Always fun to play with... When I was a Demo, he used to rip into me for camping. LOL good times B)

I have to say, if your stressed for time then you certainly want to spend it in a better environment. Kids, Hubby, Sex, Oh I could go on and on.

I just see a really good sense to your posts, which is a unique quality.
You seem to be able to keep the seperation.

With that being said,

If this truley affects you, then you absoloutely made the correct decision. Looks like the community is longing for you though...

That's true. Err, well, not necessarily in that kind of way, XD but yeah it's not quite the same around here without you TG.

Stinkfingers helped keep us entertained for a time, but now he's been run off, partly by RunsWithScissors. For anyone interested, I emailed stinky after learning RWS had his mod privies revoked, to get him to come back. But he emailed me back saying it was time for him to step away from the forums anyway. Says he needs a break from it, at least for now. Too bad about that, but I get it.

I just meant that many of the members reply to Tankgirls comments. She seems to get a great response from the community. It appears they enjoy and look forward to communicating with her. Nothing else implied.

@TankGirl: I couldn't agree with you more about the moderation! My forum is about TT, and I do have some guest areas, perhaps they could set up an Off-Topic area, and then Off-Topic posts can be locked, if they're in the wrong place. You can call me crazy!
