I have seen a number of posts where nVidia is called junk, crap etc. I was wondering if that might explain a problem I have. I use an nVidia card with 64mb and decent speed. In battlemode, if I pull up nose to nose with someone, I get some strange results. The bullseye will display on the other tank but my rounds either go high or don't even fire. This happens at ranges from 0 to about 10 meters. It also happens when shooting at an angle greater than 10 degrees. I'm on a good broadband connection that runs between 3500-4500 kbps. My system is one that I built. AMD 2000+, 768mb ram, Asus mb, SIS Graphics accelerator. I know I am a lousy shot but I should be able to hit someone directly in front of me.

Any ideas about a new card or fixing the old one would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Disable nview, upgrade drivers from nvidia.com, then uninstall/reinstall tt

Bolo Thanks for the info. The procedure did a lot for graphics in other programs but didn't affect TT. I'm going to talk to my ISP and see if there is something I missed somewhere.

Thanks Again,

Hit quick play.....is the graphics fine there??? If so your connection and/or the server is at fault

Otherwise there is an OS problem....what OS?

Whats your ping when this is happening in say lep's lair?

Bolo

In quick play I still get some "start stop" action and occasionally find myself on a different piece of terrain very fast. I'm not sure how to ping while in a game. The OS is XP Professional. As many patches as I've loaded for it there is no telling what is. Any ideas are appreciated and I'll buy the beer :P

Your nvidia with 64 memory should be enough...the rest of your system is more than adequate....

If it screws up in solo mode it is probably the video

Did u uninstall and then reinstall TT after you updated the drivers? If not try that

Restart your computer right b4 u launch TT....then play with different detail levels and resolutions and see if anything runs smooth.....while u try that send an email to support@bravetree.com and see what else u can try

Bolo Thanks again for good info. You were on the same server I was tonight and saw the lag. I have been told that if someone signs on with a dialup it slows down the game. Is that true?

I also read in the posts that someone can program a game pad to fire multiple clicks in a row. This N52 can also be used to hijack someone elses controller according to different posts I've read on a number of gaming sites. Next time your gun won't fire and the other guy is sending a continuous stream of rounds your way, think about it.

You cant steal someone else's fire.....you can programatically inrease your shots. I wont say how because I think the people that do this are cheaters. Online gaming is best left to those with broadband. Those on a dialup will have bad lag and will cause lag for everyone else

Thank you again. I'm scouting out some new graphics cards with 3DMark. It won't help lag but maybe will speed up my shots.
