Probably hosting his own server which has the tank properties changed.
No such thing! It must have been your imagination demos ant taht smart! :P (jk)
Eagle
He probably lagged out. Not quite sure how it happens, but I've seen it a few times.
If he has the scrum and is turning, he just keeps turning and there's no way to get the scrum off until his connection is cut. I've seen people simply drive off across the islands, up into the sky and just keep going.
Ahhhh, KBC you are so smart. That is exactly what he was doing. He just kept turning wildly across the map until he just suddenly disappeared. I guess you still have a few of those brain cells left XD
Tanks :)
Can't believe I found this. Here's a post I made last year about the same thing.
I dropped into a game where everyone couldn't believe that a certain tank still had the scrum. At first, I thought they were talking about an amazing feat of skill, but quickly saw that the tank in question wasn't doing anything other than driving in circles. In the middle of an open field no less! 4 or 5 players were emptying their clips into him, but he just wouldn't die. Every player there slammed into him at full speed, but no one could get the scrum off his tank. It seemed like it was super glued to his tank. All we could do was sit back and wonder how he was able to do it.
This was in one of the HomeLAN or Shockwave Severs. We guessed he had somehow set up a bogus server name and was luring people into his MOD. Then he would pretend to suddenly have "superpowers".
Problem with that explanation was that he wasn't saying anything. You'd think he would be taunting people. After a minute or two he finally disappeared and we started up the game again. He soon rejoined the game and someone made a comment about "Mr. Magnet" being back. He asked what that meant, and after we explained he apologized and said that he had been switching his laptop from battery to AC power. He hadn't left the game first and it froze up. He ended up rebooting the computer, but had no idea that during the time it was frozen he was still connected to the server.
I know it is hilarious when that happnes to people. I always take screenshots when people lag-out. So you'd be lucky if you were in that server! :)

Yes, It's called a lag out, or how "Possession" as I like to call it XD
Yes, I used to do that alot, it was funny as heck as everyone went chasing a dummy of me and I drive off the hill and into the islands withought dying, and all of the sudden when I gain back connection.. *Bup!* I apeare in front of goal with no 1 in sight XD XD :P
But now, I just simply teleport :P I am the teleporting warrior B)
**..::I am thoroughly...
amused:::..**
This happened to me one time that I remember, and I haven't seen it since. I was in an indie scrum game with some players, and LONEWOLF was heading right for me. I had him cornered. I was taking that scrum from him. I pulled in front of him, and he drove straight through me. I heard a nice CLANK, and thought I had the scrum. I turned to head toward the goal, and noticed Lone still on the same heading, not turning, and still carrying the scrum. He drove right off the map, and I had no idea what happened.
Someone said he must have lagged out. Weirdest thing I've seen yet...

@ Pedro-- your connection cuts out, or your computer crashes, just as simple as that.
I use multi-billion dollar military satellites to find tupperware hidden in the woods... What do YOU do?

I was playing scrum today using an alias when a demo started playing. This demo proceeded to get the scrum and race wildly around the map. No matter how many times he was bumped into, he didn't drop the scrum. He couldn't be killed either. I know I hit him with my cannon at least 15 times as well as the other players also, and his tank never smoked or died. Could this be some new code that someone developed? Has anyone else ever seen this?
