You guys need to get Download Accelerator
which not only resumes failed downloads but increases the download speed tremendously by pulling the file from several links at the same time. Best of all there is a free version! Been using it for many years. There are many clones but this is the best of breed (version 8 says it all).
^We're Mac dudes, Pai.
@J
Doh! Forgot. They do have a new version for Mac here
.
There are other versions for Mac too. Speed Download for Mac
.
Free trial version there. Trust me, works like a charm especially with massive files and when under the gun.
It's Ok J. They still have some bugs to work out. Worth a look I guess.
I'll log back on. I'm using the name Az and I'll be on the server that seems to have the most players so far. Hmm think it starts with an A.
Freaking bittorrent. Getting the oz now at 100k a second. Ill be done in an hour, so on in a few. Dinner and such.
any early reviews?
I felt it was just ok, too. Was it just me or was the tank moving ridiculously slow?
I saw you on a CTF server but you were gone by the time it loaded. Yeah you do have to really watch the tank specs to get one that moves.
Doesn't seem nearly ready for prime time but it is only a beta. If you took the time to dl it you might as well check it out.
Might be cool if we all jump on a server later on. Time?
The buddy list feature works btw. Use your TT name.
I am TallyHo.
Got a case of the crashes. Will check in at about 11 pacific.
Have the Mac-sters here checked out Halo yet? It features some great online team play in the full version.
Check out the demo.
Drop didn't seem too good in my opinion.
Update.
Kill shadows and the high-rez setting and keep the monitor resolution low and to full screen. Keep VBO on.
The game is catchy. With humans, it's quite complex, and teamwork rules the day. The bots are obnoxious, so join humans and try out the teamwork thing. 2 different units or more complimenting one another is much more fun than the game feels like when u first start out.

Free beta.

Battlefront has announced DropTeam, the "real-time, tactical simulation of armored ground combat," is now available for download. This early version is considered a multiplayer test, and it supports Mac, Windows and Linux.
Gamers might remember Battlefront as the creators of the popular war strategy series, Combat Mission. DropTeam takes the things they learned and applies them in a futuristic setting. The demo takes Mac OS X 10.4.5 and a 1.2GHz processor to run.
I've started up the torrent to give this a run tonight. Looks like it could be fun and mec-ish.
