Dag dazzle, you don't mess around. I just use all stock items. Have been wondering as of late, if the hardware makes a big difference in the game. I wouldn't know per se, but it might be fun to try out some new things. What I really want are one of those nostromo thingys. I wonder if that could be justified as a business expense?
The mouse is awesome. When wOOt was looking for a new mouse I told him to get one which he did, he hated it at first but after a few days and to this day I know for a fact that he thinks it is the bomb. The G5 features in game adjustment of sensitivity (5 settings) which you can pre-customise to your liking in both the x and y movements. So I have a general setting for web and office stuff a low setting for TT sniping and a high setting for normal TT play, plus 2 more in between. The G5 also has a section in the bottom of the mouse that holds weights, so you can get the mouse the exact weight you want. This sounds like a gimmick but it really works, takes a bit of messing to get it how you want but when you do its the best. As for the laser thing it definately works better than optical for TT and for things like photoshop, TGE, 3D moddelling, powerpoint etc its extremely accurate and the pointer never wanders off. I highly reccommend this mouse, not the cheapest but IMO one of the best.
The G15 keyboard is something else. Fully illuminated for those late night gaming sessions. The built in display shows time/date, has countdown and game timers, shows cpu usage and also controls media players, informs of email, and IM messages but most impressive on other more complex games it displays messages, compass, team chat, and gives info on weapons, ammo remaining etc. More and more companies are also making applets for the display to show other things, AMD just released one that shows CPU dual core usage/ voltage etc. Oh and also has 2 USB ports in the back as well. The keyboard also has 54 programble keys which can be used to store websites, or keyboard shortcuts, or macro's - I have ot set up for admining TT servers for instance I only hit 1 key to log in as admin - then I have keys set for team changing like I press a key and the chat comes up with /mg already displayed so all I have to do is type the name etc etc. Man them Logitech guys think of everything
Is the hardware worth it, well I say yes for sure - I think any advantage you can give yourself in game is a must (and as you know I need it cos I cant play for crap) as for business expenses if you can then do it if not do it anyway.
