Ok please read what I am about to quote from a email from another TT player. Now I have taken out all names and replace them with "BLANK" and changed the wording a little, to keep these peoples names out of this. They know who they are ! XO

Now can you all tell me why you need to act this way towards others ? I know who these people are and I must say, " I Shocked that they would act this way towards another person ! " :(

I usually try to keep out of the serious posts, like politics and religion(people go to war over these issues) but I am going to start to voice my opinion in light of some of the posts lately.
LONEWOLF(UF) I cant believe you posted something that was written to you in confidence. If they wanted everyone to see it they would have posted it. I think this game was created for the younger crowd. So you have to expect some immaturity to show through. Some of the kids here probably dont have much of a life other then the people they meet on the internet.
It could be a product of many different things. Dysfunctional family, disability , shyness or a combination of many other reasons. Sounds like this person is depressed and who knows what little thing it might take to set them off. My suggestion is if you dont want to help just delete and ignore the e-mails that you dont want to deal with. Remember you are the one that pushed to be the well know one here, you have to live up to everyone's expectations now. You are like a politician here on PTT.

OK, let's not blame the messenger. (Cat has some good points, though. I hope Lonewolf got permission from the person who emailed the complaint.)

The way I look at this is as follows:

1) Some people use cussing and swearing to get attention. Ignoring them usually works. It takes some self control to do that sometimes, though.

2) Some people have no social skills and need to abuse others to feel powerful. Again, ignoring them can help, but it's difficult when they hit a topic you care about (like mothers).

3) If you want to play indie scrum and not be bm'd try not doing it yourself. Getting into heated battles doesn't solve much, and may lead to getting beat by someone you thought you could take.

4) If you don't want to get their ugly messages, get the ignore script . Another choice is to join a different server.

5) Make ammends to people you hurt, hope they will forgive, and move on.

I am not sure but I believe I know who emailed you. I was there when this happened I wasn't paying too much attention to the talking but if this is who I think it is. I can not believe they said stuff like that about this persons mom. Again if I have the right person who sent this too you, this person is my friend. I never had any problem ever with the person and I really respect this guy, just sad this happened to him. If your the one who sent this and read this, I am with ya bud. I will always be with ya.

So this was a girl? I seriously don't understand how anyone would do this......this is extremely rude...especially if it is who I think that is being messed with here due to um....troubles in what happened with his mom...BUT nomatter who got bullied or whatever you want to call it nobody diserves that I mean thats really mean. Nobody should get that treatment unless they did something really offensive that can't be done in the game (like not BMing and such). Sorry for my bad grrammar, and spelling but you get the point.

@chong - Here's the thing. The people playing TT are real. We're all aware that TT is a cartoon game with some bots running around in it, but that doesn't mean we're allowed to act any way we please and treat people like crap just because we all enjoy the veil of anonymity. So while TT isn't real life, the relationships formed, the discussions had and the emotions felt are real. So the people being insulted or attacked are real and their responses to such treatment is real as well. Unfortunately, the Internet seems to empower people to be jerks if they want. Consider this. If we were all playing Monopoly together at someone's house, do you think people would say and do some of the things they do here at PTT and in TT? Oh sure, they might try it, but they'd either shape up real quick or they'd get the crap beat out of them and/or never be invited back to play again.

So remember this simple rule: The game is a game, but people aren't.

Yes the person knows I have posted this. I also know people here look up to me and that I must all ways lead by example. I have no problem helping people. You would not believe the number of emails I get in a week asking for help in one way or another. This doesn't bother me, in fact I enjoy helping others ! If by chance I don't know how to help them or the answers to their questions, I all ways point them to some one who can help them. B)

If the subject in question is still watching and his... Pursuers... I would like to say one thing; I actually feel sarry for those who ignored and treated you like dirt. How many people that are kind and have been treated well would do such a thing. They all must either have some important issues in life going on right now, or they were never taught different. I actually did a study on most of the "bullies" in our school.
aprox 80% of all 'mean' types either had parents that where divorced or going to be
aprox 25% said their parents hit them or swore at the on a daily basis
aprox 90% said their parents or parent smoked
aprox 10% said both their parents where dead
and one person = to 5%... Kicked me in the nuts...
the best thing you can do in cases of bulling is to ignore them. Also, people should stick up for others! Never let someone put others down... And if all of u are wondering why I know so much, I had to write a childerens story and the title; Bully Survival 101!

Rabban (as usual) couldn't have said it better. Always remember the Golden Rule "Treat others only in ways that you're willing to be treated in the same exact situation." even if it is an online cartoon-ish game, there are still people on the other side of that connection seeing and hearing(other games) hearing your abuse.

LGM, nice advise. BLANK should think about that. :)

Another good thing to do is just change servers, if they persue you ask the admin (if it is a player hosted server with admin) to ban/kick them for you. Or you can go with the 'ole F Off. ;)

Sure, everyone has that moment where they get frustrated, and they will usually take it out on one (or more) people. When/if you do, make sure it is all in good fun. I myself cus, or call someone a n00b sometimes, but I usually follow it up by a ;) or something (unless you piss me off, then there is no fun involved).

So whoever the onlooker of this thread is, take some advise from this thread, and enjoy your games.

What I mean by ignore is don't burst out. The best thisng to do either find a really confusing insult that they won't understand... OH! And if someine you don't know says a yo momma joke... Just say;

@Chong sorry to hear you don't have a life, but the rest of us out here do. I'm new to this game, some of you may now me as (demo) jo. Being new to the game I was shooting at anything and everything and this made some of you a little mad. Then I was told by one of you that I should "FIRST BE A GENTLEMAN AND THEN KICK SOME ASS". Will this should be TT's #1 rule. Anyone that shows that kind of disrespect to the other players should be band from the game becouse there are kids out there. To the person that gave me that advice thank you it's the only way we can learn.

How cheap... Fixit, try not to shoot at people whose screennames show up in the same color as the team you're on if you're in Team Games, that's called teamkilling. And in scrum, hold your fire unless you're trying to get the scrum from someone, or else you'll BM. But in indie Battlemode, kill anyone you please.
