Forums Index >> Modding >> Sub-contracting request : Microsoft Access Name Ge...

For those of you who remember the AI Challenges I ran last year, I am revisiting and rebuilding my AI Evolution program. Last year it was built using Excel and batch files. This version is almost totally in Microsoft Access.

I still have quite a bit of coding to do on the 'reproductive' piece of the evolution, but the testing piece appears to be complete, and I have begun running them. However, there is one piece I would like to sub-contract out if anyone is knowledgable and interested in doing it for me.

I have given each AI a Name field. I would like to incorporate a Name Generator into the program so that each AI is given a name at random at creation. I would like it to be in the style of the various fantasy and sci-fi name generators out there that assemble names from various syllables and pre-defined patterns. I would like to have 8 different name-generation patterns, as I have 8 different "tribes" evolving semi-independently, and I would like their names to be using different styles.

The process should be 100% built in Microsoft Access. I don't think the version really matters. You may use tables, queries, macros, modules, whatever.

If no one steps up I'll get to it myself eventually after the rest of the process is complete.

The 8 tribes are composed of the following tank-types:
Light Tanks only
Medium Tanks only
Heavy Tanks only
UFOs only
Lights & UFOs
Lights & Mediums
Mediums & Heavies
Any Tanks

If you wish to name the tribes as part of the process, I'll let you, although I reserve the right to veto any name I dislike. :)

BTW, watching the Heavy Tank tribe play a game of 4 on 4 Team Scrum is one of the funnier things I've ever seen in TT. XD Like watching a bunch of NFL linemen trying to do figure skating.

This kind of functionality was what I had in mind, but the actual implementation method is left up to your ingenuity.
