Go to thinktanks/game/server/prefs.cs. There are a lot of different lines, but I think you'll be able to figure out which means what. Sometimes my server gets locked into a different set of preferences no matter what I do to the prefs.cs, but only because I've gone to Create-a-Server in the servers window in ThinkTanks. (If that sentence made no sense, just ignore it.) You can edit the.bat file to change the map rotation and gametype (see here ). You can also get a script to edit the map rotation to the exact way you like it.

Little problem.. Ive changed all my bot's names and all the stuff in the prefs file, but none of the bots show up on my server. Is there another file I need to edit so I can have bots in my server?

So instead, I edited my prefs file cuz thats all wacked... Am I supposed to edit this, because I cant understand it at all...
I know nobody likes me, but some help would be nice...
Well, first to organize all that jibberish all you do is:
1. Open the.txt file with Microsoft Word
2. When you did that, it will open Microsoft word and a pop-up should show up.
3. Press Ok
4. Save it and another pop-up will show up saying "Yes" or "No" and when that shows up say Yes.
5. Close Microsoft Word and go back to your.txt file and you should see it all organzied!
6. After that post a fresh prefs.cs! Thanks!

The way I fix this is Create a server with the TT game itself with no password etc...
Then exit out totally from the game after you succesfully launch the server and start your dedicated server
password should be gone :)

Hey man this is a neat program. Way better than NotePad. Download it on this site its called Tribal IDE.
Organize all that stuff into paraghs, Hope this helps ! :)
Thanks choro, looks neat. Im trying it out right now, ill post back with results.
Just remove the pres.cs.and prefs.cs.dso. Launch a server from the in game console. Name the server, pick the game type etc. It will save the prefs and generate the prefs.dso file.

Ok, when I host a map, I go to
bravetree/thinktanks/dedicated and click on the map. However, each time it comes up at Unitedtanks and is Scrum with no bots.
what I would like to know is the following:
1. How to name your Map your hosting
2. The number of bots
3. How to add bots/ change names
4. The rotation of maps
5. Type of game
6. How to host your own/ other peoples mods
Now I know someone will say "mod resource FOO!" but please im going to check that out ASAP and read it all about 5 times. So if anyone with experience in hosting could answer a few of my questions, it would be extremely helpful.
