Lately, there's something that's been annoying me. Okay, I've turned the music off and am now using some of my own music from CDs for my background music while I play. However, there's still the annoying sound effects that play. Sometimes, especially if I'm in a relatively quiet point of a song, the sound effects are louder than the music. However, no matter how much I tweak the little bar ingame that controls sound volume, it does nothing. It's constant no matter where I put it.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to actually turn down the volume of those sound effects (tank sounds, bullets, the voice that says "Area Effect!" and the like, etc). I don't want the sound completely gone..just quieter. I try asking in game but no one seems to bother answering anything. Just nag at me to play, so I leave since they won't help.

No one is answering you because the answer is so simple. Just go into the "Options" menu, like so:

Then simply slide the sound bar to the left, like so:

And do you think I have not done so already? My sound has been set all the way to the left for the past few days now, and it still gives the same sound as though it's all the way on the right.

Well then, you've got to take drastic action. Go into game/client and open up prefs.cs.

$pref::Audio::masterVolume = 1;

Change the 1 to 0.5 or somethin'. See if that helps
