In stead of "I'M BACK" threads, I do propose "WHO LOVES ME" threads, wherein, akin to friendster or myspace, users can gauge their level of communal love by the number of posters therein.
Thus, perhaps the next time you go away for less than the suggested two week period, try starting a "WHO LOVES ME" thread instead.

There is nothing wrong with having "im back threads." This is why we have forums, to notify a bunch. Emailing people is a good thing but alerting a large group of people is a "good thing." Just ignore them...

I like the titles of the "who loves me" threads better... Catches the eye :P
