Nap is very good with those kind of terrains if I am not correct right?
Then again, he is good with terrain in general.
I ain't quitting Lush until I figure out how to avoid the invisi-rock -- damn thing gets me everytime.

Variety is the spice of life, but those quick pickup games usually are lush. Frantic is great. Spooky is not for me... Maybe I need to eat more carrots or something.

James, I do have a lot of terrains that fit the decription you just mentioned. I have a mod bots server that has maps that only use stock items. This means that the most someone would have to do is download the terrain. I hear that some people do play it, but it's primarily during the day while I'm at work.
You may want to check out my latest rotations server. I would think the 300 some-odd mb download keeps some folks out of these mods. Rooster has also made some small quick mods that are nothing like the stock maps at all. I'd peek in there.

@Napalm: 300mb! Yeesh! That's absolutely insane, so I'll have to dig into it! Glad to see you're still around, by the way.
@LGM: Spooky is a BMer map. Stable ground and long-range visibility means a great oppurtunity to gun and run. This, of course, means I really suck at those maps...especially the big "bowl" from hell. For some reason, it always feels like I'm moving in slow-motion on those maps.
I undestand that some people hate Frantic maps because of the random death by meteor. Personally, I find those incidents to be hilarious! "God" has smited you!

Lush........is boring. The terrain colors are alright..but it gets boring once in a while. GO NAP MODS! B)
Mods and lush are all people want to play. I like mods but most of them are lush. I like frantic more than anything. I dont like mods that use any wild color patters. Makes me feel like im in a carnival.
Someone put up a TS server with frantic mods and stock frantic!!

Lush doesn't get boring for me (only been playing for 5-6 months) but after awhile I just ignore the terrain. That night (I am sure u remember JB) when I played Scrum in Spooky was the first time in months that I actually played in spooky.
At your best how did you rate versus Hanksta?
My "best" was for about four months when all free time was spent on Think Tanks and I was away from family. I was able to keep reasonable pace with most of the old veterans (CADC, ReagentX, TankGirl, Slugthog, etc). My skills went south when I got to go home. Bolo is one of the "veterans" who got to watch me steadily decline to "average joe" status. As you can see, he still enjoys ribbing me about it. :P Even in my prime, though, I could not hold my own against Hanksta. His only true fault is that his ego is large enough to throw the Earth out of orbit.

Oh, I'm sorry. My earpiece has been on the fritz lately and I keep saying stupid things when I lose my prompter, almost like I haven't been listening and have no freakin' clue what anyone is talking about...
Now I don't mind lush but I HATE some spooky maps.

If someone would tell me how in the heck to make a map, I'd make some spooky (and maybe frantic?) maps. I think the stock spooky maps (with one exception) are crap...ish. If you do it right, spooky maps can be pretty awesome B)
What I just noticed is that Lush encourages BMing. It the only way you can get past a good player and the only way you can get the flag from one.

Well, managed to get some Panic time in last night. Got to see (and get smited by) my ol' buddy, Lonewolf plus a few new names to mix it up! Having a bunch of Heavy bots made the game a bit different. They can't score worth a crap, but they can gun you down from a distance! Made for some funny moments.
Well, I'm now behind in a lot of stuff. I'll see ya guys after the weekend!

Hmmmmm....let me be specific.
I don't need any custom maps. I do like them, but they aren't required.
I just want the built-in Frantic levels. It is so rare that I get a full game in one. Shockwave servers are running 3 lush scrum games...only one of them is ever populated. Would it kill them to run ONE server that rotates through ALL levels?
Wish I could remember who was serving the game (they weren't playing at the time), but thank you for running a custom server witht the stock Frantic levels. It was a good time!

Y'know, next time I get the chance to play, I'm just gonna duke it with the bots in a Panic server until some people join me. 2 days of playing and I'm already sick of the smooth rolling hills and pretty trees. Makes me feel like I should be rolling out a beach blanket within the battle.
I want FIRE! I want sharp, nasty mountains with smoking boulders pummeling those ragid tanks to oblivion! I want to see jump pads that earn you frequent-flyer miles while you suck in volcano fumes! I want cliff-sides that make driving a REAL skill as you hop over and duck under tanks that bounce across the chaotic landscape like a barefoot drunkard over hot coals!
I don't want a retiree's vacation home....I want HELL!!!
