Though SA has a leader, we arent very strucured, actually, we have many SA's that shoot each other for grins. Back to the topic...
Some guy came with the name "black jack" into Surrvivor and three "Blacks" were in there. The leader ordered them to "ATTACK ALL PEOPLE THAT HAVE THE WORD BLACK IN THERE NAME" The someone said "Why?" the leader then said "CUZ THEY ARENT IN OUR ARMY, WE MUST GET RID OF THEM, OR ILL KICK YOU FROM THE ARMY" or something like that.
Also I came in under the name "GoBlackCar" and they did it. Oy vey!
Yes, the (SA/Au/Twc etc means that you are in sevral armies. I am in three, but I don't have enough space to fit all of them..

Yeah, I've never understood the multiple army allegiance either. What happens when you're in a game with members from all armies? Are you required to shoot yourself?
I guess it's a club thing. Just a way to meet people and fit in. I remember you used a high school analogy in another thread, and this seems similar. Some people are in everything; football team, debate team, student council, etc. Others just seem content to hang out and do their own thing. Then of course there's the guy who's always sitting in the principal's office and questions authority. *cough bolo cough* XD
I prefer to do my own thing, but I have to confess that I'm really tempted to slip the invisible army symbol on my name and join 44's relentless search for unauthorized use of their symbol in porn sites. %)
BTW, I don't think I've run across the Blacks yet. Are they mostly in Survivor & BM?
@KillinBrainCells: LOL... Good stuff. Yes, I've only seen them in those areas, but I am sure they will come to scrum eventually once they realize how wonderful it is. I think scrum is for the more cerebreal type of players out there because it involves much more than just "kill everything in site", al though good BTM skills are very important. It's like Chess...and BTM is like checkers.
@Racer: I hear ya. I don't mind players showing which teams they've played for, as long as they don't become blind followers and break the rules of the game just to remain "loyal" to their teammates (example, never shoot a teammate even if they are on opposite teams--one is green and the other is blue!)
@TG: You are indeed a one-person army. The K8 and TG symbols always generate a large sized gulp in my throat whenever I see it.
I know that I will have to be prepared to play or else get humiliated....
To help counter this I propose that no one shoot a tank with "Flea" in the name.

I have a problem with the apparent blind allegiance many players have to their "army" or "team". I can understand being loyal to your team when it comes to playing in a league (that makes sense), but I just don't get it when people behave almost cult-like to their squad. For example, there is a brand new band of blind followers called the Blacks that take it personally if you use the word Black in your tank name! Just for grins, I used a new alias called BlackEye in survivor with a few of these Blacks playing and they jumped all over me! Their "leader" (for lack of better term) ordered his minions to all attack me for using the name!!! It was hilarious as I wasted most of them, but also a little disturbing to see how people can become such followers...all over nothing!
The same is true with the Seals and other "armies". Maybe I can't understand it because I've never believed in being a follower.
I've always believed in being unique and a leader, so that might explain my stance on this topic. I posted a similar thread on the topic of allegiance to team and colors here: http://supra.planetthinktanks2.com/archives/comm-thread.asp?thread=954&forum=3
What do you think?
By the way, I also don't understand players with several acronyms in their names (UF/CA/SA etc. Etc.)! What's that about? Does it mean they belong to several teams or played with those teams/armies at different times? It's weird.
