Not true Player, remember the Niko incident of August/September? Besides, some of the admin problems are legit, and some are not.
One incident, but there have been many complaints in scrum servers. I'm not trying to push anything (well maybe a bit :P) but I'm curious why there are so many more arguments in scrum. My guess is that it has something to do with what blitzer said.
Ya! Thats right I'm mad at admins too
Bossy stinkers admning everything...Just a bunch of administrators administrating the unadministered
Oh wait a minute - uhhhh
I'm an admin too
oh geez - uhhhh
nvm
There might be more arguments in scrum because there is only one goal. In Bm the goal is all over the map and anyone can get to it....always an opportunity to shoot another....if not you can make an opportunity. Scrum has only one goal and its fixed in place. No way to control it.
In addition, we are often in close quarters in scrum. Stray shots hit us. Others get in the way of our perfect steal and let the original ball carrier score. BM does not have nearly as much as this kind of stuff. If you lose in BM, there is often no one to blame but yourself. But in scrum, there's always someone getting in your way and working at cross-purposes to you.
Yet another reason for the difference is simply losing perspective. I've seen even vet players get mad and lose their perspective.....they think they should be scoring more, but for any number of reasons they are not. They start blaming others. I've heard accusations of camping when no camping took place....accusations of diving when no diving took place. I've even heard low-scoring vet players take out their frustrations (and this one is kind of wacky) by claiming that all the other players "have no skills" and have thus made it impossible for them to achieve success! Ones perspective, or perception of reality shifts when anger and frustration levels rise.
I see the admin's role as being twofold: 1. Getting rid of the obnoxious idiots. 2. Helping all players keep their perspective.
If you control your aggrevation, and don't act like a jerk, the admins won't bug you.....you wont' even notice that they are there...it's that simple.
Yeah, Admins are going to get yelled at. Just as umpires and referees get yelled at. It is sometimes a thankless job, I'm sure, but I have always appreciated their willingness to serve in this capacity. Some of the best games I've been involved in were with an admin present.
Hop
^ The problem is when the admin him/herself looses control. Then, with that "power" of theirs, they can actually take it out on others, if they're not man enough to leave themselves. (I can think of one in the last week but won't post it.)
I agree with all jedi has said on the subject... But I'm off to bed, and can't be bothered elaborating
There isn't many admin problems in BM, because most admins don't like BM so they won't bother with it.
Now, on topic, the only one I think who is being a mayor admin power abuser is Jay, no offence
**..::I am thoroughly...
amused:::..**
I am completely unaware of the complaints in scrum...at least team scrum. Adms have regulated team scrum to the point that virtually every game is idiot free and more importantly EVEN. This makes for the most intense games to be had in TT.
Now TBM...thats a different story. I have had this beef for so long and can no longer stay quiet on the matter....
WHY THE HELL IS IT THAT THE MAJORITY OF TBM PLAYERS CANT COUNT THE NUMBER OF PLAYERS ON EACH TEAM AND COME IN AS THE APPROPRIATE COLOR!!!!!!!
Im so sick and tired of it ending up as a 7 on 4 or some other ridiculous nonsense where the game ends up in one teams favor by 30 points. I have begun to assign poeple teams as they come in and as it becomes lopsided as we do consistently in scrum only to get complaints. WTH is the problem?!?!? How difficult does it need to be? I left TBM for a while because of some nonsense in the leagues but I miss the intensity of an evenly matched game...something that could be had regularly two years ago.
So poeple of TBM please listen up....
LEARN TO FREAKIN COUNT SO WE CAN HAVE AN EVEN MATCH!!!!!
Don't know where to post it...Here is the most appropriate :
GOOD GAMES @ ROOSTER YESTERDAY : Full server for more than 4 games EXTRA FUN : thanx guys !
To those who don't like admin jobs : dont join this servers : admins are human & we own more patience than you can imagine : we don't get mad 'cause of lag of certain ppl or against ppl joining & coming constantly or leaving faster than they join... YES we do mistakes & YES we try to repare to even teams & intensify the game. What I hate up to all are ppl who comment a score at the end of the game '21-3 : what a fair game !' <- those ppl joined at the 2 last minutes & dont know who was in or not !! & they complain about admin job... XO
Most of us often forget its just a game...
@ Jedi good point (& I rarely see admin power abuse).
¤fully loaded satellites will conquer nothing but our minds¤
^^ I fully agree, I will always try to even teams myself, but sometimes it requires even more than one player to switch, it just irks me...
^ You are one of the best admins I've seen, you do a great job! ;)
Pass the popcorn...
Like blitzer said...
The problems in indy scrum happen when admins (and self-righteous whining twunts) start enforcing fictional "rules"...
Bc's banlist is one of the better, most consistently admined servers; without the overzealous nonsense which some admins seem so fond of pushing, sucking the fun out of games.
You gotta remember, indy scrum IS a lot different to teams. It is a lot more relaxed - not having to play your best for the sake of your team-members, and doesn't suit admins trying to 'sanitise' the game past the point kicking players who are being blatantly abusive to other players.
Don't put me in obs for taking a freebie.
Don't kick me for shooting you when you are about to score (even if you haven't yet got the scrumball).
Don't kick me for waiting at the landing area of an arrow. Hell, that's not camping, what am I supposed to do? Drive towards you only to let you sail over the top of me?
Don't pop my head for spawning in goal, and not immediately running to the other end of the map, so you can score.
Don't kick me for killing you in a goal-battle
And, just think before you do things, Their are too many admins who are over-keen to flex their 'muscles', and incase you haven't noticed it's not fun. Isn't that what this game is about?
I WILL play tactically, and I WON'T let you score out of bullshit politeness.

We should have a thread for admin abuses, very much like the 'Silencing and Banning' thread.
Take pictures, and post them.
Admins have both powers and responsibilities.
We're as eager as you are to denounce abuses of any kind.. :)
@ AO1 ty ;)
@ Hugo I semi agree w/ you : Will admin do a thread for player abuses ? See the medal reverse... For players its easy to get mad @ admins & teach them how to do... I don't complain 'cause on rooster server its 'easy' to admin : most of joiner are useful accustomed of the rules. The most difficulties are to even teams (the harder part of the admin job & I don't speak of aliases). But on some other servers : ppl join/chat/leave/come back/chat/shoot/chat, another BM, another camp & after 3 games the admin have enough to type '/cp play' '/cp stop BM last advetisement' '/cp no you wont have a ufo boss' '/cp desperate housewifes on the channel 3' I understand that sometimes they get out of nerves: admins are not babysitter & want to play too. & I admit/agree : this is not an excuses to abuse of power.
On my own in game I'm first a player & thru that I try to show the example , then I try to admin fair. That's why I consider me @ the player side : be respectful & all of us will see great admins ;)

Well said blooper.
Hello, I'm Three, and I'm an admin power abuser. (waits for others to welcome him) I only admin in banlist, and I abuse the hell out of it. If there's something I can do at your expense to make the other eight players giggle, you can bet your sweet hoochie I'm gonna make it happen. I don't know how I got started in abusing, possibly from bad parenting, or peer pressure, or maybe when the other admins took me to that " mexican nocturnal wildlife exhibit", which turned to be nothing more than a donkey show at some late night tequila saturated hump-hump room, and they took pictures of me vomiting while they laughed and they laughed and they lau............(sigh). Either way, I'm hooked. Oh I tried to quit once, but it was boring and I gained weight, so now I just try to take it one day at a time, and remember that first I must love myself. Thank you. (sits down)
Err Three... Thanks... For your... For speaking to the group..... ;)
WHY THE HELL IS IT THAT THE MAJORITY OF TBM PLAYERS CANT COUNT THE NUMBER OF PLAYERS ON EACH TEAM AND COME IN AS THE APPROPRIATE COLOR!!!!!!!
Because in TBM it doesn't matter to many people. I haven't had a game of TBM in awhile since before yesterday. The teams were uneven and I beleive it was you? Who tried to prove a point in TBM. The fact is, no one really cares, the side with 7, nor with 4. Hell, I don't even care if my team has less players. Of course give credit to those who actually switch 3-4 times a game :'(
Plain and simple reason of Admins
"What is power if you dont abuse it
" XD
Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it sucks...
@Racer: You imply that TT is so stupid, yet you still play PSL and are still in UF. Hmm, must not be that stupid. Not only that, but you continue to post on these forums, which is for a game that should be deleted. Hmm, makes you wonder...
And as for "play a real video game", I'm not quite sure what you mean. No game is better than TT, I don't care what game you name, nothing is better than TT. End of story.
IF YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH ADMINS THEN........THEN............DEAL WITH IT! Or if you are being untreated unfairly....Make your own server put urself as your own admin and say..AHAH YOU CANT COME INTO MY SERVER NOW SINCE IM AN ADMIN!.......... %)
It is a very stupid game and once I get done with PSL, I am GONE.
And I happen to think that ThinkTanks is just boring. I know and play several other games that are way better, IMO. End of story.
Anyway, on the topic of admin abuse, if you just be nice and obey common sense and the rules set down by the admin, you won't have these problems. Admins are good people who tend to be very fair and spend their time giving back to the community. Show them some respect, but you don't have to kiss their ass either.

^ hmmm... Why would someone who thinks this game is stupid, put hours upon hours of Light tank skinning? (not to mention a nice website for them as well, and the above mentioned by Jedi?)
Idk Racer, Coulda fooled me

^^ Mighty bitter for an "old" vet
I suggest you remember all the good times you had....
I dunno who put a burr in your saddle but your acerbic comments
are not gonna sway the masses.
Have some class and retire with dignity
^ Took the words right out of me

Could people try to leave the game AFTER the game? I know that sometimes u have to scoot but it gets annoying...
Bm games are fairly easy to keep even if people would use the autojoin when they enter a server and NOT pick their color. Also please understand that just because an even number of players is in the server doesnt mean the game will be close. Sometimes if players dont want to switch teams its easier to place more players on the other team...
Scrum games are really hard to keep the scores close because all it takes is a superstar player or a superidiot player to make or break the team. Often games with an unequal number of players can be closer by keeping people red who are really good or really bad...ive been doing this lately and it seems to do more good than harm. Many times you have to offend a player who sucks for the greater good of everyone else and its an iffy tradeoff.
Im still waiting for that admin script!!

Try playing in BM servers more, you don't notice nearly as many problems there :P. But seriously, these arguments usually seem to happen in scrum games. Anyone else notice this?
