Often, once I leave TT, my windows desktop view is hosed. It still looks like its in the TT graphics mode and the screen overlaps itself once (maybe twice) and I don't have any real mouse control. I have to reboot in order to reset it and I accomplish this by using CTRL+ALT+DEL and using ALT+F to get to the shutdown menu.

This relatively a new problem, maybe going on for a few weeks.

I would suspect a faulty video card - unless you are multitasking
Assuming your on a pc and your computer is tuned up (no spybots or viruses) try:

A) next time it freezes hit alt+tab to cycle thru running apps (multitasking)

B)Look up manufacturers website for video card and install latest drivers

Tip: Any application and even windows can be closed with alt+F4
