Ummm not to tchange the subject but how do u do that thing where it says things like "made by Krispy" when the game starts?

Wednesday, February 02, 2005 at 6:26:10 PM

Download Observer . Then edit it like it says. Now back to the subject %).

Well, I edited LoadingGui.gui.dso (Don't tell anyone how, Art), and I got something like that working. But sometimes the game crashes when the loading starts. I'll fix that and see if I can release it. Oh, by the way, It opens up your default web browser, there's no such thing as an "In-game web browser.

*sigh*
why is everyone so secretive about stuff they find in the code of this game?!?!
I'm not, I let everyone know what I find....
what do you gain by keeping it to yourself? Glory? Or modding newbs that wont stop asking you how to do it?

Okay, here's the catch... Making stuff with the Torque Game Engine DEMO and then distributing stuff you make with it is ILLEGAL. You must BUY Torque. I don't want people popping up editing dsos with the demo! If you have the FULL, $100 version of Torque (which I do), forward me your reciept from GarageGames and I'll tell you.

That can't be true. Dash disturbutes his codes witch he made with TGE and he even says he looked around for any problem with this and found nothing in some of the files. Of coures he may be wrong, but don;t tell him XD.

Thursday, February 03, 2005 at 5:38:24 PM

HAHAHAHAHA!!! Dash is a TGE licensee! He bought Torque! If you buy Torque, you can distribute anything you make with it!

Friday, February 04, 2005 at 6:24:37 AM

He also says "
// Note: I mucked around in garagegames License and I'm not a lawyer but I think
// I'm legal to distribute this as I own a Torque Game Engine License. If
// BraveTree or GarageGames has a problem with me doing this contact me ASAP
// and I'll pull the plug on this.

A copy of the demo is NOT a Torque Game Engine license!

Ok, I understand that part but what about modding the original files in tt?
you can do that with notepad without having tge...
can you distribute those if you wanted?
I wanted to know about why people had to be so secretive about what they mod...

Besides, you can mod dso's with ultraedit if you know what you are doing...

You can mod with ModWizard and Notepad (the mission files), you just can't make terrains or scripts based on those of TGE.

Friday, February 04, 2005 at 7:07:21 AM

Oh ok, sorry I wasted everyones time on that. I thought you ment dont tell anyone because you were going to keep It to yourself, not that it was illegal....
