LOCK 'N LOAD BABY
I love my randylion
Now your talkin!
How would you like to have contact with hundreds of people on a daily basis and have an outbreak going? I'll be using up lots of sick time if it comes to that. I have about a year of it available, though...
I think it's just a little stupid to be honest... It CAN'T be transferred from human to human which all the 'end of the world' scenario's are based around, infact it can't even transfer from a bird to a human unless you exchange bodily fluids... 'nough said.
It WILL mutate at some point, but it could mutate at any point between now and the next couple of hundred years.
It IS worth being prepared for (government stockpiles of useful drugs and a contingency plan)... But it is NOT something people should be overly-worried about.
^ good post
It makes a good reason to get voters minds off a few little invasions of countries and illegal security measures.
The odds of having a pandemic are exactly the same, every year.
So watcha think about the bird flu?
Well, to me, this just seems like another sickness that people are worried about. Schools, neighborhoods, etc. Shut down does seem a bit too much at this point. ALtho "artyfarty" bloop does have a point about the mutation of the virus at some point...
It's gonna kill us all! AHHHHHH!! Oh wait, false alarm..
If you're interested, here's a good link. The White House is releasing its bird flu plan.
Also, here's a link to the actual plan release page. From here you can get the BIG.pdf document.
I haven't read it, and may never, but if you're interested, it's here.
