I've been struggling to understand some of the behavior we see from the likes of Chong and Dominator and am interested in the community's opinion on root causes...

My thoughts...

I think they're terribly insecure in real life. Probably are/were very unpopular at school. Probably have/had an older sister that beat them up at home. Probably very challenged with the opposite sex. Probably teased and picked on a lot as kids. Probably have very few friends and choose to hang around with people who they can intimidate. Probably come from broken homes and/or had detached, unaffectionate parents. Probably try to create online personalities for themselves -- tough, bad-ass, confident, dominant, etc. -- that are completely opposite of what they are in real life.

Just my thoughts.

Man this sure just makes fun of chong and dominations

Someone did a thread about chong ages ago I think where chong was a convit and lots of funny stories in it ;)

^^^That's not making fun of them, but rather trying to understand them. It's always more fun in a community when you can focus on what you have in common with others, instead of being a disrupter, which is a waste of time for them and everyone else. Their behavior is unhealthy and 44 is just trying to figure out what's in it for them.

You left out sexual abuse, drugs and alcohol ! One of those 3 had to play a roll in their out comes ! B)

@BC Just played a game of Indi your server. It got worse there than in the Shockwave Servers. Demos (the usual goofs) and morons abound.

On topic, I just think they're bored kids who've nothing better to do. Whatever happened to stick ball?

I agree with 44. Or it, could be something tragic or so completely embarassing happened in their lives that they want other people to think they are normal. Unfortunately, they have a bizzare, twisted veiw of normality. This happened to me once. Dog attack. Hole right through my lip and my eyelash was just kinda haning off. It made me go anyi social, and into slight depression. Now I am happy that this happened, because if it didn't I would probably had an ok year in 3 and fourth grade, went to the regular middle school and had a horrible time. Now, I went to CLC, got interested in computers, met saint jimmy, who intoduced me into think tanks, and started a whole new life for me!

... Back on topic. Thisngs similar to that, but without the positive outcome may have happened, or something very embarasing and degrading... Say, like... Giving a presentation and having a porn site you where looking at pop up infront of the whole class. That would suck. One of my friends had this happen to him and he told me he was close to killing himself. There are just too many possiblities. I just hope that chong finds some kind of sancuary that he can sort out hhis thoughts! Wow... Long post!
