Hmm...
OOH!! OOOH!!! I'VE GOT A GREAT IDEA!!
Tank classes and professions!
Like, you can special your tank in sniping, marksmanship, explosives, close-range combat, rocket launchers and stingers, and maybe even stealth killers!
And each class would have something special, such as the snipers can lock on to enemy tanks and use a scope, and would have a Speedy powerup as a primary weapon!
Stealthkillers can only fire maybe ten feet, but its an instant kill!
And explosives, rocket launchers, and stingers will have an Area Affect powerup as their primary weapon!
Like it?
(I think I've been playing too much of "CONFLICT: DESERT STORM". ;) )
Paisan- I like your idea of being able to record and play back a game. Most other games I've played have that. TT really needs it, so we can record epic Scrum and BM battles and put them into a TT museum for future generations to watch. Heheh.
Also, the spectator mode. -z- has already figured out a way to do this, as a floating UFO above the action, but hasn't released it to anyone. I'd be willing to bet he's working with BraveTree to incorporate that into a future release.
As for improved chat, I believe that has been partially implemented, although I've never done. I think on some servers you can do team chat, so only your teammates can see it. Someone chime in if you know how this works. I remember reading about it, but am not too familiar with it.
I don't think the soldier deploying feature is so good. It's cool, but TT is not supposed to be a realistic tank combat game. It's cartoonish and simple, and it should stay that way.
I personally think what it needs the most is a refresh of the maps. Maybe not get rid of existing ones, but add a bunch more in. Say, double the amount of Lush Spooky and Frantic maps. The ones it has are getting old. All the old-timers already know them so well. We need some new ones!

Some one should really take on the role of User Group Lead and facilitate the gathering and voting on these great suggestions. So when -z- and Bravetree have the money they can implement
So... Does any1 like my idea?
I like them, CodeMaster MR. I must admit that I thought you were being facetious and mocking the whole concept of a wish list.
In any case, I kind of like your suggestions because it would make all of us that more different and thus more unique...ultimately making the game itself different and more fun. We're all too similar... Almost clones in a way. Thank goodness for new MODs and skins and weapons of @ss destruction (Repent's got the best, BTW).
OK, sry its just that I asked if any1 thought my idea was good, sry :'( :S :[ :(
OM, thanks for the props and astute criticism. I agree with your assessment about not adding soliders to the game and keeping it cartoonish.
I think part of the charm of TT is that it isn't TOO realistic....like ultra-violent games out there now. The cute and funny images of TT kind of off-set the inherant and necessary violence that is a part of every TT game. We must shoot and destroy (even in scrum) in order to be successful.
By the way, do you think there needs to be different leagues for age groups?
For example, an under 10 league, a 21 and over league, a 30something league?
Of course, you can still have an anything goes league for everyone of all ages to play, but it might be good to have an area for older folk to play.
Mostly because of the foul language some of you display...come to think of it, I believe the younger players have the dirtiest mouths out there!
Hmmm...maybe the older folk need to be shielded from such vulgarity?
:)
Another wish...
How about adding MODs of real places?
Wouldn't it be fun to be able to do battle on the streets of NYC or LA?
How about a scrum in Central Park or in Paris, France or Venice, Italy?
That would mean having amphibious all-terrain types of tanks, huh?
Tanks that could convert into boats or submarines?
How about Iraq? I would love to be able to roll into Saddam's palaces with my tank and rip apart his "special forces" on pick-up trucks.
Hey paisano-
Concerning leagues for different ages, I will say this. I have a 10 year old on my PsychoScrum team, Dar. After playing with him in many games now, I would say that he can hang with the best of the adults, and then some. He's one of my best players, already voted as MVP for my team twice so far.
Now, that's not to say that all 9 or 10 year olds can kick booty, but don't underestimate some of the younger players. In terms of motor skills, they are often as good or better than us older folks. It's in the area of strategy that they can sometimes fall short. But overall, I don't know that age separation is necessary.
That's the funny thing about online games like this. You never quite know who you're playing or how old they are. Keeps you on your toes :)
Now about the MODs of real places. It sounds interesting. I'd like to see it. Several good modders have tried to create street like levels, for "urban combat" The big problem as I understand it (I'm no modder) is that there is a limit to what you can do with the terrain, and what objects you can make. I don't believe you can make something like a building per se. Just rocks and trees. I'd like BraveTree to expand the set of objects that can be created in the game, for more varied levels and mods. I don't know if they'll accommodate us, be we can ask.

Most of these suggestions are stated elsewhere. Check out the longer threads over at GG so as not to rehash. [ I posted about urban mod (TT2 I thought at the time ] over six months ago. Others have posted about replay, physics, shot count etc.
The game is think tanks. As soon as these things turn into submarines or airplanes, I'm gonzo. Soldiers? Why?

Im almost 11, one of the youngest players. And I have beaten some of the best of em' at Scrum.
How about keeping DEMOs off paying members servers? Most, not all, but most of them seem to be rather vulgar, mean spirited and nasty.
Spoils many games....
Well, to be honest, I'm pretty young. :( (11 going twelve soon)
@OM and paisano
You guys might think this is wierd, but... Every1 in my family (except for my mom, and my family is pretty big) plays TT.
My 7-year-old sister plays it, my 9-year-old brother plays it, my 43-year-old dad plays it (lol), and I even have a 4-year-old brother who plays it and can beat some pretty good people.
I'm not sure where the translation got lost along the way, but, just for the record, I totally understand and believe that younger players in this game can be very good. I've seen it first hand, so I don't think it's weird in the least.
But being younger, or older for that matter does not automatically make someone good. There may be lots of 11 year olds out there that suck, same as there may be lots of 40 year olds that are poor players too. All I'm saying is that age discrimination here is not necessary. All can participate in games and contribute equally. That's just one aspect of this game that makes it so much fun IMHO.

Just to echo Paisano, let's have authentication this time round and put a stop to the spoilers please.
Tally = Gonzo?
Gonzo= departing
Are the BT guys listening? What are the chances of a TT V2?
Given 300 players committed enough to sign up here (or 200 allowing for Stinky's aliases), they don't look too good to me - 300 x $20 = $6000 isn't going to buy an awful lot of programmer time. About a week and a half where I work :[
PS @-z-: this thread is gefooken - my latest post ended up back in the middle of Friday's batch, very strange.
@Gnom: there seem to be some oddities with new posts showing up above old posts in other threads too... My guess: the database is gonzo..
Keep it up, you'll get the shnoz :)
<----gets to work on his new muppet skin line...
@Rabban- good wish! However, I'd like to add something to that.
On top of the option to have others see your skin, a user should have an option to block other users' skins. Why you ask? Simple. There is a potential for abuse here.
If someone, say Anon, wanted to be offensive, it wouldn't be hard for them to come up with a skin using offensive images. If you, as a player, had no way to block his skin, you'd be forced to look at it. I know it sounds like a long shot that anyone would do this, but if there's one thing I've learned, it's that offensive people will ALWAYS find a way to abuse the system.
Beyond this, there are times when I would just rather play and not be distracted by custom skins. Some of the skins I've seen are garish and distracting. I don't want anyone to force me to see them, just as we shouldn't be forced to see player chats, so we have the Ignore script for that.
Just my 2¢

Auto-Level?
3 words... UNLOCKABLE BIG UFO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! XD B)
How about 3D TT? The deal with the 3D anaglyph glasses. The ones with red and blue lenses. That would have players ducking and bobbing in their chairs for sure.
If my understanding is correct, the heavy tank has a feature where the barrell automatically levels itself. The problem is it seems to give the barrell a mind of its own. There are times when I can sit, release the mouse and my barrell will slowly drift upward until its pointing way up into the air. Its also difficult to shoot from a hillside at an angle since the barrell is trying to level itself in relation to the tank while I'm trying to shoot at someone below me. I think it also comes into play when trying to roll and shoot. As the terrain changes the level of the tank changes. Trying to shoot this way is hard enough, but if the barrell is trying to do its own thing you're basically wrestling your equipment to make it do what you want. Just gets frustrating. :S
I want to have an order of onion rings, along with a supersized #9 please. Thank You. Yes, I would like ketchup packs, yes, thank you. "Please move up in line and recieve your food at the next window after paying,"
Not that funny, Mark.
3 words... UNLOCKABLE BIG UFO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! %) XD :)
I wasn't being funny, I was HUNGRY! But now I have eaten, and I am feeling better, but I never got those goshdarn onion rings.
I like the suggestion for adding a timer/clock to the servers list area next to each game as well as inside each game to see how much is left.
A few Ideas I got first you need a score menu.say by hitting f2 it would bring up a semi tranparent screen with all the names of the people in the game with there scores and deaths and have a little symbol beside your name so you can find it easily and a little symbol beside the person that say has the scrum in CTF or scrum. Another thing we need to add to the game is WATER!!! Because it would be really cool to have water or maybe enviromental effects like rain, snow to make certain grounds slippery or make you move slower and also make a window you can open up to veiw all the chat messages so say if you missed something someone said you could hit f4 and bring up a window that shows all the chat "submissions"
Ohh hot digity im full of ideas another thing you need is to have effects like when you get hit with say something thats explosive if you in a heavy tank you will get shifted to the side but if your in a light tank you might get throw a small distance...just a suggestion and also make the heavy tank wepons more power ful and faster and make the medium tanks burst only five shots oo and maybe make the turret be able to turn 360 degrees and possibly give the game a heads up display with like something that is easily modifyable to customize to your liking and tells you how much ammo you have left and maybe makes it so you could like switch weapons or something and has a little arrow in CTF and scrum games that tells you where the scrum is.. Of course noone is going to listen to what I have to say but thats ok..
Great script!! Thanks for sharing it!!
DOESNT WORK ON MACS
It would be great if we could see not only a list of all the players in a game before we join, but also what the score is and how much time is left.
For example, if team blue is losing badly and the sides are even or green is short-handed, you could then join blue to help them comeback.
If you noticed there was only a couple of minutes left, then it might not be worth it to jump in just yet.
I thought of this yesterday.
It would be nice to be able to have a blue skin and a green skin for each tank in team play. I know the names are colored, but having different skins would be nice too. Something like tank01b.jpg and tank01g.jpg to really help with the "shirts vs skins" idea.
@Rabban, Great idea. I like...
Also, I'd like to be able to enable skins so we could all see each other's unique skins.
Someone mentioned using a skins server in order to allow this.
However, for team games, your idea of blue vs green makes the most sense!

Is there an email address we can send ideas for new features we'd like to see in TT?
I'd like to see everyone's wish list for TT.
Here are some that I have...
I wish we had the ability to deploy a solider from our tank if we wanted to....and they could use rocket launchers to attack other tanks or other soliders...they could also use machine guns and bazooka's, etc.
It would add another layer of complexity to BattleMode as the battlefield would then become more realistic and the need for war plans increased.
I'd also like to improve the chat feature. We should have the ability to chat one on one, with everyone at once and especially privately with just your team mates for strategy! We should be able to communicate with team mates while playing without the opponents reading it!
How about adding voice chat?
VCR controls to record games or portions of games.
The ability to lurk and watch games as a spectactor and thus learn more from the masters? I know we can get in there and shadow, but you still get in the way and get smoked too.
