Cheeseknife, Napalm put up an essential guide to TGE a while back really very good, cant remember which thread but you can get it in the download section on my WEBSITE
Here are Triv's instructions on how to get TGE WORKING
Also checkout the modding resource
Hope that helps

Well thanks all. I have only had a chance to do the Triv method in hopes of regaining some memory, but after I do all the steps, in TGE is says I don't have the right something or another..anyway, guess I'll try messin wit it manana.
Oh yeah, and when I do get the TT_1 to run in TGE No matter how much I hold the "s" key down and pull back on my mouse I can't seem to get it right by being above the map instead of falling down through it...oh well..
You cant use a original TT map
There was a secondary process done to them and the skins dont show
Use a dash - roo - triv - etc as your starting point
I tried using d16.ter and d16.mis-no buneo. I know I had to have done something wrong since I never got this message before unless I modded in TGE then tried to open a mission in TT,. Strange, I'll keep tinkering with it. Thanks Roo!
If your staritng with one of Dash's older maps make sure you have the mod pack installed.I believe some of Dashes older mods used elements in a folder called dtt in the missions folder.
You may recieve that error if the folder is missing. I would suggest using a later Roo, or Wiz/Triv map.
You can also look in the console to see what's being done behind the scenes.
Unless I'm mistaken you can hit the ` key while your loading a map. It will list all kinds of stuff. Maybe paste that in the thread.
` <<<<<<next to the #1 key just below the esc key.
Alright- I'll try a roo mod. Who's got a link/site to get it from? Also, I did put the dtt folder in tge, but alas, to no avail.
What is your OS? The guide I wrote ages ago is only for XP(Linux?) as I don't know how Macs works... But everything should work exactly the same way in XP and Mac expect starting the TGE as dedicated.
If you are familiar with some of my maps(avoid wiz's, he used dtt) you can edit them too. Its good to be familiar with the map, because you're editing it much above the surface level. As a result, everything looks so much smaller in TGE than it's actually in TT.

PS. One hint if you end up editing someone's map: edit it unrecognizable. ;)
You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.
Thanks Triv- I'll give it a whirl in a bit.
OKay, here's the deal. I don't think I am going to attempt this any further. I am very frustrated w/ the invalid packet issue and not sure if I want to spend the time trying to work it out. It appears that TT has come quite a ways from when I was here and feel that w/o going back in time and "keeping up with the Jones' " learning all that has been done that works I am doomed to be lost forever. At this point and time, just playing will have to suffice. Not sure why it isn't all coming back to me, I thought for sure it would be just like riding a bike, I would never forget, well....I did...
Anywho, I visited quite a few member websites and am pleased to see everything that has been accomplished and only wish now that I would have stuck with it.
There are two mods that were done by me back in the day and don't know if they will work anymore. These are from my old TTdedicated website as well, now changed to my saltwater tank site. I'll see if I can't link to them this weekend. Thanks everybody for their help!

I miss doing this, but have almost completely forgotten. I have also spent hours looking for past threads about the use of TGE. Is there a link to a beginners guide to TGE and using it in conjunction with TT? Darn the memory loss!!!
