Kris shove it! Your talking way to much smack!
This s what I think about your ideas phoenix.
1. Good plan will end up killing a heavy almost all the time
2. Not so good of an idea, the heavy are the best when it comes to turning circling will just make it harder for youto hit us while we blsat you from the side. I garantee no light can cirle a heavy faster than it can turn.
3. While your sniping us out we will snipe you out, heavy have the best sniping wep. It is powerful shots, in my experience anyone that tries to snipe me out unless I am almost dead they will usually die.
4. Yes that works but remember, while you pushing us we blasting the heck out of you, unless we are near a cliff I suggest not ramming us,
5. It will haflway work, again heavies shots are fast so harder to dodge. If you are trying to dodge a heavy with good accuracy it probably not very effective.
Seeing as how I am a heavy I will not tell you any of my tricks for killing them lol.

Heavy shots are no faster than light shots.
Anyway, lights still rule at sniping, seeing as they have lots of shots,so it is easier to hit.
Heh heh, lights can do more than just circle 'round, they'll weave and spin, blasting you with clip after clip in the process.
I know, I drive a light, but I have to be honest. The only real way to kill a well played heavy is to either stalk it until it is smoking badly, then kill it, or sacrifice yourself and do as much damage as possible so that you or your team can pick him off. I have found there is really no good strategy agianst a heavy that doesn't have some serious drawbacks. Thats just me, though. Some of you talented people :P may have different ideas.

I agree heavies are the better tank, but I like lights better just because they can get around the map alot, and they're good at killing other lights (which is the other usually preferred tank). There aren't many heavies out there, so I wouldn't worry about switching to light tank. :)
The good thing about having alot of ammo in one clip is that if you miss once you still can hit them more times the thing about a heavy tanks is that it shoots slowly and only 3 shots a clip and if you miss once or twice your gonna have some trouble and plus its slow and luggy and such a big target lights are small targets compared to heavies and whichc makes them the better I believe.
Big things come in a small package.
I have a way to kill havies very simple. You have to be in front of heavies and angled kinda off to the right of left of them, I mean facing. Then you shoot them, while they shoot back you can dodge bullets. Hint: make yourself a little ways away this works best on flat ground. In my opinion when I play as a light I can kill alot of heavies doing this, but you have to be good at this for it to work, heck even works light on light if you good enough at it.
Umm...Vicious. You should look at that last sentence you wrote in your comment before this one. Heh...
Lol I am thinking about switching back to a light gaul lately I have had more fun with it. It is so frustrating with heavy beign so slow so I always get stuck with multiple on me and I have been getting way higher scores probably because I have taken what I learned from heavy now and I can use it into lihgt and I can be better so now I can fully switch to light and be better than before.
Yo vicious., thanks for backin' up our kind. These people have no idea how *** XO powerful these heavies are. ;) these light tanks are like buttered popcorn. And what would happen if another heavy steped in? :'( What would hapen theen? Ever thought about that? T.Y. Vicious. :)

@ kris
Actually 1 heavy shot = 1 2/3 light shots. 3 heavy shots can't equal 8 light shots. 2 light clips is whats needed to kill a light. BUT 3 heavy clips are needed to kill a light so 3 heavy shots cant equal 8 light shots. Gotta do the math kris !
The BEST tactic, which I found out when playing against Clever AI Heavy Bots is:
Go behind the Heavy Bot, Because they are too slow to turn around quick enough, By the time they turn round you would of fired atleast 2 rounds on them, then u can start dodging thier bullets and whilst they are reloading shoot them, I can kill a Heavy Bot while I Still have half my life left, I will be slightly smoking

Ummm pedro, heavies turn faster than any other tank. Your plan only works if they are stupid, or a bot with supposedly has Artificial Intellegence lol yeah right.
Although I'm still learning, I have found that when facing an opponent with equal skills, the player who gets the first shots in will usually come out on top. The good light tank drivers still give me a hard time... That quick back and forth random movement gets me almost every time. They also make almost every shot a hit. Very tough to beat.
Anyone can be good at which ever tank. I personally prefer the "light" for it's speed. I like to MOVE! I have my own tactics for woopin' the "heavys", but it pretty much depends on the situation of course, AND the exp. Of the opponent. When u get tired of losing, then u will figure out YOUR own tactics. And they WILL work. ;)
For me I just get rightbehind the heavy keep on bumping it folowing it's every move it doesn't always work but oh well just saying :) XD
Eh, heavies are about medium to kill for me, unless it's someone with really good aim. ;)
There are two things that work against me:
1. Have two lights attack the heavy and one snipe. Heavies dont move a whole lot when they fight, and they're big so the sniper could take it out, but maybe not before it's killed the other two lights attacking it ;).
2. This is probably just me, but I have a lot of trouble when lights "stutter" back and forth. It's impossible to predict where it's going to go. And it can still shoot the heavy because the heavy is so big and doesn't move a lot :P.
EDIT: Oh and all of you who think the light's longer burst will help you out-snipe a heavy prepare to be annihilated! Most lights are too impatient to snipe anyway. The thing that helps heavies the most is that their drivers are usually a lot more patient than light drivers.

Heres MY maneuver:
1.Sneak up behind the heavy
2.ram him from behind while unloading rounds(it should be harder for him to turn around)
3.when he turns around, move forward SLOWLY and just keep shooting
4.remember to bring your anti-smoke mask!!! :P

^^ Thats why I try to watch the radar ;).
^ A heavy's turret range is really good though so watch out.
A sharp ridge also makes and effective killing ground for a heavy. If any are foolish enough to try to follow you over them ram them at the apex and empty your clips into the underside. With their turrent in the air they cannot hit you and if you time it right the will end up resting on top of your tank as you blast into them.
^ ah but if you ram a heavy it will rip you apart. Trust me :).
The problem is it is hard to catch a heavy from behind :).
I just hit them and shoot them, then go around them in a circle.
and do it again
my blaster will destroy u!
I made a awol tank coooooooooollllll
my blaster will destroy u!
Hi all in my veiw you cannot snipe a good heavy. Has for sneaking up behind them all good heavys never take there eyes of radar The only way if he his smoking is ram him close and stay on his side The other way is like player 36 xtl said was one on him the other light giving long range cover
I'm sure somebody elese made this thread o well
my blaster will destroy u!
This is surely a funny thread. I have seen two lights try and kill me only to find their way to the cementary. A skilledful heavy tanker is hard to beat period. Bring the bible and the holy water and you might have a chance.
SK
A skilledful heavy tanker is hard to beat period
Change that to impossible.
The only way to kill a good heavy is to shoot it while it's typing and on the phone at the same time.
I am a heavy guy, but im still learning. Hope to become an "impossible-to-beat" heavy someday! B)
Thinktanks: $20 New Mouse: $15 Winning an indy scrum game: Priceless
Circle it, ram it, but do it all inconsistently, so they can't hit you.

Wow long living thread... If its not too lat for me to submit my oppinion,
There is no easy way to kill a really really good heavy, unless your really really lucky... Anyone whos faced SK
, MUSCLES
, infinitemonkey
, LC50
, goforit
, and myself
of course, knows its better to think through what to do next before senselessly running in thinking of an easy kill. Even with the circle, ram
then shoot plan, you must remember the heavy can still fight back and move around. Sniping it is another possibility but not very good when dealing with an expert heavy since the bullets of a heavy travels faster and hit harder if contact is made.
Point is theres no real easy way to beat a good heavy without taking good damage your self in a smaller tank.

Heavys are the slow but powerful tanks they make up for the speed with firepower
1. 2-3 lights can tank a heavy easily
2.circle the heavy with a group so ur harder it hit
3.remember they are big targets so u can sniper them from far
4. Heavys when rammed go flying so u can ram them of the world and into fog if u are lucky
5.use your speed to avoid the heavies fire
I hope these help-post any other things I have missed(prob alot lol)
